Trump urges Georgia DA to prioritize Atlanta homicides.
Former President Trump Calls Out Atlanta’s Rising Homicide Rate
Former President Donald Trump expressed his concern over the surging homicide rate in Atlanta, criticizing Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis for focusing on alleged 2020 election interference instead.
Reports suggest that Willis’s office may charge Trump and his allies for their alleged attempts to overturn Georgia’s election results. However, no public announcements have been made regarding the case.
President Trump took to social media, questioning why Willis, whom he referred to as “Phoney,” leaked his name in connection to a Grand Jury investigating election fraud and irregularities. He also mentioned the accusations of an affair between Willis and a gang member she is prosecuting.
“Why is ‘Phoney’ (Like in PERFECT ‘PHONE’ CALL, get it?) Fani Willis, the severely underperforming D.A. of Fulton County who is being accused of having an ‘affair’ with a Gang Member of a group that she is prosecuting, leaking my name in regard to a Grand Jury pertaining to Election Fraud & Irregularities that I say took place in Georgia,” President Trump wrote on Sunday morning.

President Trump urged Willis’s office to prioritize addressing the record number of murders in Atlanta.
According to anonymous sources, Willis’s evidence includes alleged text messages and emails linking Trump’s legal team to a voting system breach in Coffee County in 2021.
Former Lt. Governor of Georgia, Geoff Duncan, confirmed that he has been subpoenaed to testify before the Fulton County grand jury. Duncan, a critic of Trump, emphasized the importance of honesty and integrity in his social media post.
Georgia journalist George Chidi also revealed that he has been asked to testify on Tuesday.
While Willis has been working on the case against Trump for years, the timing of the charges remains uncertain. In July, she stated that she would make significant decisions regarding the election probe before September.
“I made a commitment to the American people, but most importantly the citizens of Fulton County, that we’re going to make some big decisions regarding the election investigation and that I will do that before Sept. 1 of 2023. I’m going to hold true to that commitment,” Willis said. “The work is accomplished … we’re ready to go,” she added.
In early August, President Trump was indicted on federal charges related to his alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election results. Despite these legal challenges, he remains the frontrunner for the GOP presidential nomination, according to opinion polls.
The Trump campaign released a statement defending the former president, claiming that he has always followed the law and characterizing the indictment as a “persecution” reminiscent of Nazi Germany.
