Trump pledges to combat all politically motivated charges amid looming third case.
An Iowa audience erupted in cheers for former President Donald Trump as he made a bold pledge to “fight any and all politically charged indictments.” This electrifying moment took place during a town hall event on July 18, hosted by Fox News’ Sean Hannity.
Introducing Mr. Trump, Hannity announced his plans to completely reform America’s two-tiered system of justice and the weaponized justice system. The crowd responded with applause, whistles, and shouts of approval that lasted nearly 50 seconds, as Mr. Trump graciously thanked them.
According to Mr. Trump, under the current administration led by Democrat President Joe Biden, the United States is rapidly transforming into ”almost a communistic state.” He criticized the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI for targeting not only him but also Catholics and parents who dare to challenge school board policies affecting children.
Mr. Trump highlighted the significance of a pivotal event during his presidency—the firing of then-FBI director James Comey in May 2017. He described it as throwing a rock at a hornet’s nest, causing the whole system to collapse. It was then that he realized there was an attempted coup to remove him from power. If reelected, he vowed to fire even more alleged bad actors.

Audience Boos ‘Attacks’
During the town hall gathering in Cedar Rapids, the crowd expressed their disapproval with loud boos on two occasions as Hannity mentioned the “never-ending attacks” on Mr. Trump. These attacks include the possibility of another indictment from Special Counsel Jack Smith.
Smith led the investigation that resulted in numerous charges against Mr. Trump last month for his handling of classified documents after leaving office in 2021. The impending indictment is related to Mr. Trump’s actions surrounding the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, during protests against the certification of Mr. Biden’s election win.
Mr. Trump found it peculiar to receive notice of the grand jury’s targeting on a Sunday, July 16. He criticized the rush and interference, calling it unprecedented election interference in the history of the country.
Simultaneously, Mr. Trump is also the subject of an election interference probe in Georgia regarding his dispute over the 2020 election results. Democrat prosecutor Fani Willis is expected to announce the grand jury’s charging decisions soon. In addition, Democrat prosecutor Alvin Bragg secured a New York indictment against Mr. Trump in March related to hush money payments.

Biden Allegations
When Mr. Hannity remarked on Mr. Trump’s resilience in the face of tribulations, Mr. Trump responded that it does bother him, not just for himself but for everyone in the enthusiastic audience.
Although the event was labeled as a “town hall,” audience members were not given the opportunity to ask questions during the segment that aired later that evening.
One of the most thunderous applause lines of the night came when Mr. Trump questioned why Congress impeached him over a phone call but hasn’t taken action against President Biden for allegedly receiving tens of millions of dollars. The House Oversight Committee, led by Republicans, has uncovered evidence of Mr. Biden’s family members receiving money from foreigners as part of an influence-peddling scheme. House Republicans are determined to hold Mr. Biden accountable, while the president and his son, Hunter Biden, have repeatedly denied these allegations.
Mr. Trump passionately criticized the existence of a two-tiered justice system that shields entrenched politicians from punishment while targeting political outsiders.
