Trump: ‘We must remain strong and powerful against radical abortionists.’
Former President Trump Vows to Fight for Pro-Life Policies
In a recent speech, former president and 2024 candidate Donald Trump passionately emphasized the crucial role his administration played in promoting pro-life policies. He made a strong commitment to continue the fight against “demented late-term abortionists” if re-elected.
“I take immense pride in being the most pro-life president in American history. From day one of my presidency, I took historic action to protect the unborn,” Trump declared to a captivated audience at the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s annual conference in Washington on June 24.
Trump also highlighted his successful confirmation of three Supreme Court Justices—Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett—who played pivotal roles in the landmark decision to end the constitutional atrocity of Roe v. Wade.
“As your President, I will continue to steadfastly support pro-life policies, just as I did during my four strong years in office. We must not shy away from confronting the extremist views of the Democratic Party. We must be resolute and powerful,” Trump asserted. “That’s why, when I am re-elected, I will persistently fight against the demented late-term abortionists who advocate for unlimited abortion on demand and even the execution of babies after birth.”
“Remember the governor of Virginia? He said, ‘Yes, the baby is born, you lay the baby aside, and then you make a determination as to what to do with the babies.’ In other words, he would kill the baby after. And you have many who believe in that, that’s what they want. They are the radical extremists, we’re not the radical extremists. And politicians have to say that,” Trump reminded the audience.
Trump was referring to former Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam, a Democrat, who sparked controversy in a January 2019 interview on WTOP radio where he seemed to endorse the killing of infants after birth.
The former president stressed the importance of the federal government’s role in protecting unborn life, stating, “There remains a vital role for the federal government in protecting unborn life, and it’s very important.”
Trump proudly mentioned that he was the “first sitting president ever to attend the March for Life rally right here in Washington D.C.” During his presidency, he reinstated and expanded the Mexico City policy, which prevented U.S. government global health funds from supporting foreign groups that provide abortions.
Negotiating Power and Rejoining the Geneva Consensus
During his speech, Trump highlighted how the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade has given pro-life supporters unprecedented negotiating power.
“You now possess tremendous negotiating power. With Roe v. Wade, you had none. You had no power. We have now empowered pro-life advocates to negotiate something that will benefit everyone,” Trump explained.
“You didn’t have that power before. They couldn’t ignore you, but now they can. It’s an incredible achievement,” he concluded.
