‘Trumpism Without Trump’ Is A Media Illusion, Republicans Shouldn’t Be Seduced By It In 2024
Currently, the media heavily promotes a narrative that suggests that ‘Trumpism without Trump’ is a viable option for the Republican Party in the 2024 Presidential elections. The line relayed by The Wall Street Journal on Thursday, as per the source, states that “Mr. DeSantis is making an implicit argument within the party that Mr. Trump is incapable of winning a general election and trying to appeal to those tired of constant turmoil.”
Republican candidates must understand that it is not possible to make a case to the public, whether in an implicit or explicit manner, that they can provide peace or calm, as it is often referred to as “Trumpism without Trump”. Any Republican who chooses to believe that they are the candidate who can steer away from “constant turmoil” by merely refraining from petty Twitter feuds with cable news hosts and celebrities is naïve in their thinking. To emphasize further, these candidates deserve to be called out, labeled, and shamed. (Unless, of course, it is Nikki Haley, who could be forever gagged with a Confederate flag.)
Any Republican who desires to gain any amount of consideration must be adequately prepared for constant turmoil, instead of running away from it. Donald Trump is known for instigating petty drama and bringing out the nastiness in people, resembling a scene from any show from the Real Housewives franchise. However, the degree to which the “constant turmoil” of the previous seven years revolved around Trump’s fascination with mocking ugly people is minimal. The overwhelming majority of non-stop conflict, disharmony, and madness was fabricated by the dishonest media. The media will always hold a grudge against the voters who made Trump the first Washington outsider to be the president of the United States.
The incessant negativity towards Trump by the Justice Department, the federal government, and the district attorneys of every city in America is undoubtedly political, but it is not at all personal. They don’t care about Trump as a person; they care about what he symbolizes. More importantly, they have contempt for those who consider Trump significant.
It is not wise to fall for the media’s narrative of a possibility of a “Trumpism without Trump” candidate. There is no such thing as this opening. To be a genuine Republican candidate, one must be willing to tackle constant turmoil head-on.
