Tucker Carlson questions Chris Christie on Ukraine conflict.
After questioning multiple Republican 2024 presidential candidates over the weekend, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson is calling out candidate Chris Christie for avoiding a debate on Ukraine.
During an interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos, Christie criticized Carlson’s stance on the Russia-Ukraine conflict, stating that Carlson has always been wrong. Christie expressed his willingness to push back if given the opportunity to debate Carlson. While Carlson interviewed six Republican presidential candidates, Christie, former President Donald Trump, and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum did not attend.
Christie told Stephanopoulos, “You’ve always been wrong about this, Tucker, and you’re still wrong.” He emphasized that the Ukrainians are capable of fighting for their own freedom with support from the United States. Christie also mentioned that polling and conversations with voters indicate that a majority of Republicans support assisting Ukraine in its fight against Russia.
Carlson Challenges Christie
In response, Carlson shared a screenshot of Christie’s comments and challenged him to a discussion on the topic.
On Twitter, Carlson wrote, “Sounds like this could use a longer conversation. We just asked [Mr. Christie] to sit down and explain his views on Ukraine. He refused.”

Expressing his disappointment, Carlson added, “You hate to think that Chris Christie is a tucker-carlson-fires-back-at-chris-christie-over-ukraine-remarks/” title=”Tucker Carlson responds to Chris Christie’s Ukraine comments.”>blustery coward who plays the tough guy with sycophants at ABC but won’t answer real questions, but who knows? We hope he reconsiders.”
This incident follows Carlson’s challenge to former Vice President Mike Pence regarding his stance on Ukraine during the Iowa Family Leadership Summit.
During the exchange, Pence defended his belief that the United States can address both domestic issues and international conflicts. Carlson questioned the allocation of resources to Ukraine while the country faces its own challenges.
As the debate continues, it remains to be seen if Christie will accept Carlson’s invitation to discuss Ukraine.
