Tucker Carlson leaves Fox News: Vivek Ramaswamy says ex-host would be ‘good addition’ to 2024 election
Get ready for some exciting news! GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy just announced that former Fox News host Tucker Carlson would be a “good addition” to the 2024 presidential race. Ramaswamy, along with former President Donald Trump and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, are among the few declared candidates.
In an interview with Politico, Ramaswamy expressed his belief that Carlson announcing a bid for the White House would be “good for the country.”
“I think he’d be a good addition to the race,” Ramaswamy said. “I think someone should only do this if they feel called to do it, but I think it’d be good for the country if he got in, to be honest with you.”
Ramaswamy, a 37-year-old billionaire, called Carlson one of the “smartest voices in the conservative movement,” applauding the former host’s ability to “defect from party orthodoxy when necessary.”
While it is unclear what Carlson will do next after parting ways with Fox News, a cryptic ad on his website pops up for all viewers regarding his next moves. Carlson himself has remained silent on the matter, but the ad prompted people to sign up to “become a tuckercarlson.com insider to find out what Tucker’s up to next.”
For Ramaswamy, Carlson moving into the 2024 presidential race would be a welcomed decision. He also commented on CNN’s decision to terminate Don Lemon.
“I think it’s a gutsy decision, that I applaud,” he said to Politico. “It’s another example of companies gaining a spine.”
