Tucker Not Welcome: Woke Canadians Petition Trudeau to Ban ‘Hate Monger’ Ex-Fox News from Country
Left-wing Activists Petition Trudeau to Block Tucker Carlson from Entering Canada
Left-wing activists in Canada are passionately urging Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to prevent former Fox News host Tucker Carlson from entering the country. They argue that Carlson promotes racism and conspiracy theories, and they believe his presence would be detrimental to Canada.
Carlson is scheduled to be in Calgary, Alberta, on January 24, 2024, to interview province Premier Danielle Smith.
A petition on Change.org, which has gained significant traction, describes Carlson as a “conspiracy theorist, active supporter of Putin, promoter of racism and hate monger, supporter of the January 6 insurrection, [and] supporter of the rigged 2020 US elections conspiracy.”
The petition lists ten reasons why Trudeau should deny Carlson’s entry into Canada.
Former Alberta Premier Rachel Notley, a member of the socialist New Democratic Party, is also calling on Smith to cancel her interview with Carlson. Notley believes that appearing on stage with him would normalize his views and demonstrate a lack of judgment.
Smith has restated her intent to meet with extremist Tucker Carlson.
By appearing on stage beside a person with such hateful, harmful views, Smith shows a total disregard for the negative consequences this will have on Alberta’s reputation, and casts severe doubt on her own. pic.twitter.com/oAOlNFKOoJ

Despite the controversy, Smith’s office has confirmed that she will be attending the event with Carlson. Her press secretary emphasized that the premier engages with a variety of individuals from different political backgrounds and does not necessarily endorse their views.
Carlson, known for his provocative statements, previously suggested that the United States should ”liberate” Canada from Trudeau’s leadership, comparing the country to a dictatorship. He criticized the Trudeau government’s handling of the “Freedom Convoy” protests against COVID vaccine mandates as evidence of a lack of respect for individual rights.
Trudeau responded to the protests by invoking the Emergencies Act, leading to the arrest of protest leaders, freezing of supporters’ bank accounts, and impounding of their trucks.

What challenges arise when trying to balance freedom of speech with the need to protect against hate speech and harmful ideologies?
Ce insists that the interview will proceed as planned, stating that it is a valuable opportunity to discuss important issues with a wide range of voices, including those with differing opinions.
Trudeau’s office has not publicly responded to the petition or the calls to block Carlson from entering Canada. However, the Prime Minister’s stance on promoting diversity, inclusivity, and combating racism and hate speech may influence his decision in this matter.
This isn’t the first time that left-wing activists in Canada have called for certain individuals to be blocked from entering the country. In the past, figures such as Milo Yiannopoulos and Ann Coulter have faced similar challenges. These incidents raise questions about free speech and the line between promoting diverse viewpoints and allowing individuals with controversial beliefs to spread their messages.
The petition against Carlson’s entry into Canada highlights the challenge of balancing freedom of speech with the need to protect against hate speech and the promotion of harmful ideologies. It begs the question of who gets to decide what views are acceptable and what views are not.
While the debate continues, it is essential to remember the importance of engaging in civil discourse and promoting dialogue that is based on respect, empathy, and a commitment to understanding different perspectives. Instead of simply silencing voices that we disagree with, we should strive to address and counter the harmful ideas that they may espouse.
Whether or not Trudeau will take action to prevent Tucker Carlson from entering Canada remains to be seen. However, it is clear that the issue has sparked a significant debate within the country. As Canada continues to navigate the complexities of free speech and ideological diversity, it is crucial for all individuals to actively work towards fostering understanding, inclusivity, and a society that values dialogue over division.
