Tudor Dixon suggests AOC’s energy runs counter to ‘robotic’ Democratic lawmakers – Washington Examiner
Tudor Dixon, a former Michigan gubernatorial candidate and podcast host, has issued a warning to the Republican Party regarding its current momentum, emphasizing the importance of not becoming complacent. On Fox News,Dixon noted that Democrats, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), are connecting with voters, and she believes the Democratic Party will eventually regroup following their past electoral defeats. She expressed concern that the party is leaning too far left but acknowledged AOC’s genuine appeal to the public, contrasting it with more robotic candidates who lack authenticity. Dixon suggested that many Democrats might be misled by the large crowds AOC and Senator bernie Sanders attract during their events, highlighting a disconnect with broader voter sentiment. Looking ahead to the 2026 elections, Dixon hinted at a potential run for office in Michigan, perhaps contesting the gubernatorial seat or a Senate position after losing in the 2022 gubernatorial race.
Tudor Dixon suggests AOC’s energy runs counter to ‘robotic’ Democratic lawmakers
Podcast host and former Michigan gubernatorial nominee Tudor Dixon cautioned the Republican Party on taking its current momentum for granted, citing how Democrats like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) are “resonating” with voters.
Dixon said it is only a matter of time before the Democratic Party will “get it together” following its defeat in the 2024 elections, after which the party faced low approval ratings. The former Republican candidate added that the Democratic Party would seek candidates it believes will strike a chord with “middle” voters, as this is the voting bloc the party is missing.
“They’re going too far to the left right now, but AOC is resonating with people. She’s real,” Dixon said on Fox News’s The Faulkner Focus. “They continue to elevate candidates who are kind of robotic. They don’t really believe in the message. They’re just spewing the message because that’s what they are told to do. AOC is actually living the message. What she is saying is what she believes.”
Over the last few weeks, Ocasio-Cortez has been on a “Fighting Oligarchy” tour with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), drawing in large crowds in districts that typically lean Republican. Dixon said Sanders saw “a vacuum” that he is pushing Ocasio-Cortez to fill and claimed that he recognizes “this is when socialism rises.”
Dixon suggested that Democrats are being deceived into believing that the crowds Ocasio-Cortez and Sanders are drawing reflect “reality,” but she argued this is not the case.

Ahead of the 2026 midterm elections, Dixon hinted at possibly seeking another run for office, expressing interest in both next year’s gubernatorial election in Michigan and the state’s Senate race. Dixon ran in Michigan’s 2022 gubernatorial election and lost against Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI).
The Washington Examiner’s Joe Concha assessed that the Democratic Party lacks a candidate who is authentic and suggested the party may run with a candidate like Ocasio-Cortez, who is more of a “celebrity” candidate. He also suggested that the party “go to the center” on its policies, but he expressed doubt that this would happen.
