No Charges for Trump in Manhattan

Progressive Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg will reportedly not be charging former President Donald Trump today. However, the Manhattan Grand Jury is expected to reconvene on Wednesday to continue reviewing charges against the former president. Law enforcement officials in New York and D.C. are preparing for potential protests from both sides of the political spectrum in response to the verdict. Trump and his team have denied any wrongdoing and maintain that the legal precedent is on their side, even if he is indicted. Daily Wire managing editor Greg Wilson provided this update.

Russia Intercepts US B-52 Bombers

Russia has claimed that one of its fighter jets intercepted two U.S. B-52 bombers over the Baltic Sea on Monday. This comes after Russian planes forced a U.S. drone into the Black Sea a few days ago. Chinese President Xi Jinping was in Moscow for meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin designed to end the Russia-Ukraine war when the incident occurred. Meanwhile, two Russian nuclear bombers flew over the Sea of Japan for hours as Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida visited Ukraine. Daily Wire reporter Tim Pearce updated us on these situations.

Biden Signs COVID Origins Act

President Biden signed Republican Senator Josh Hawley’s COVID-19 Origin Act into law on Monday. Congress had passed this legislation unanimously, forcing the issue of declassifying intelligence related to the origins of the COVID pandemic. Biden said that he shares Congress’ desire to release as much information as possible about the virus’s origins but may redact portions of the intelligence when required to protect U.S. national security. Hawley praised the move as a significant victory for transparency and accountability, though it is unclear when the Origins report will be released. Tim Meads, a Daily Wire journalist, provided this news.

Los Angeles School Workers Strike

Los Angeles public schools closed last minute due to a strike by the school worker union, which represents approximately 30,000 school custodians, cafeteria workers, bus drivers, and support staff. LA’s major teacher’s union, United Teachers Los Angeles, joined the strike, prompting the district to cancel classes this morning. This strike is focused on school worker concerns, rather than those of the teachers.
