Musk stated on Twitter that Twitter made claims he broke his non-disclosure agreement when he revealed the sample size he used to calculate the number of bots on the platform.

Elon Musk says Twitter’s legal team has called him to complain he broke his non-disclosure agreement (NDA). Musk allegedly broke his NDA by revealing that his sample size while looking into the percentage of Twitter bots was 100.

“This actually happened,” Musk tweeted.

On Friday, Musk shared a tweet saying that his $44 billion deal to buy Twitter was on hold temporarily, linking to a Reuters article stating that by Twitter’s estimates, fake accounts on the platform “comprise less than 5% of users.” This per an SEC filing.

The Twitter deal is temporarily on hold pending details supporting the calculation that spam/fake accounts represent less than 5% of the platform’s users, he said on Saturday. He had also said that he still has every intention of acquiring the platform.

“To find out, my team will do a random sample of 100 followers of @twitter,” he said.

“I invite others to repeat the same process and see what they discover …”

He said he picked 100 as the sample size number “because that is what Twitter uses to calculate “5% fake/spam/duplicate.”

He also posted that he’s “Still committed to acquisition.”
