Twitter Calls Rihanna’s Super Bowl Performance ‘Worst Lip Sync Ever’
Rihanna’s halftime performance during Super Bowl LVII Arizona’s Sunday was known as the “worst lip sync ever” Fans of the game on Twitter.
The 34-year-old Barbadian-born singer didn’t include any surprise guests as she performed in the middle of the battle between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles at State Farm Stadium in Glendale.
However, many were quick to note as the singer danced, while suspended on platforms that looked like they were floating in the air, it appeared that she was lip-syncing some of her biggest hits like, “Only Girl (In the World),” and “Umbrella” in the 13-minute long performance, The New York Post noted.
“Rihanna not even having the mic near her mouth while the lyrics are playing. Why bother doing the halftime show if you’re not even gonna try and lip sync, bizarre,” one person wrote.
“Amazing how Rihanna is able to keep singing even when she puts the mic aside and doesn’t move her lips at all,” another tweeted.
Another person wrote. “Too bad Rihanna is lip-syncing.”
While another tweeted, “You know I love you but that’s the worst lip sinc [sic] ever. OMG.”
“Lip-syncing at the Super Bowl should not be allowed,” another shared.

I am sorry but Rihanna knew she was pregnant and not able to sing and dance for the half time super bowl. She should have said sorry I can’t do it please give someone else the chance to entertain everyone in front of millions

The “Diamonds” hitmaker wasn’t the only star of the night that got called out for bad lip-syncing on the world’s biggest stage, The Hollywood Reporter noted. Sheryl Lee Ralph, who also performed during Super Bowl LVII, hit back at claims she didn’t actually sing “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” also known as the black national anthem.
“Does it matter? Does it matter? No. Thank you,” Ralph shared.
During the show, Rihanna also revealed to the world that she was expecting her second child with rapper A$AP Rocky, as she showed off her baby bump and rubbed her belly, as previously reported. A rep for the singer confirmed the rumors that started on Sunday following Rihanna’s halftime show.
Abortion activist Rihanna spoke recently about the wonders of motherhood during a Super Bowl press event ahead of her headlining the halftime show, as The Daily Wire reported.
“When you become a mom there’s something that just happens where you feel like you could take on the world, you can do anything,” Rihanna explained.
“The Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages of the world,” she added. “So, as scary as that was — because I haven’t been on stage in seven years — there’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all.”
