Two Dead After Tennessee National Guard Helicopter Crashes In Alabama

A Tennessee A National Guard helicopter was involved in an accident on a northern highway. Alabama Authorities say that two people died on board the vessel Wednesday afternoon.

The UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter was struck by lightning and crashed onto a highway just north Huntsville at 3:00 p.m. According to the authorities, two people died in this crash. According Fox 54. No one was on the ground injured As a result of the crash.

A U.S. official Confirmed ABC News stated that the aircraft belonged in part to the Tennessee National Guard. Other details regarding the flight are not known.

Witnesses reported hearing a loud, almost car-like noise before they heard a bang.

“We saw it hit the ground and it exploded,” Tammy Adams , adding. “We knew there could not be anybody surviving that.”

“There’s nothing there, at all,” Chermonica Johnson shared her WAAY. “You can’t even tell it was an aircraft.”

Alabama state troopers and officers with the Madison County Sheriff’s Department secured the scene on Highway 53 following the crash.
