Two experienced congressmen caution that adversaries detect vulnerability in this administration

Reps. Waltz and⁤ Van Orden Slam Biden ⁤Administration’s Military “Bad Policy”

Reps. Michael Waltz (R-FL) and Derrick Van Orden (R-WI), ⁣both ⁤veterans, passionately criticized the‍ Biden administration’s approach⁤ to ⁢diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in the military. In a recent appearance on ⁤One Nation with Brian‍ Kilmeade, they expressed their ⁤concerns about the⁤ negative impact of these policies.

“Bad Policy” ⁢Out of‍ the White House

“This is just bad policy; it’s not a tsunami from nowhere or an act of God. It’s bad⁢ policy out of⁤ the White House,”‌ Waltz emphasized, referring to‌ DEI initiatives.⁣ He further added, “At the end of the day, it has not deterred anyone. Our enemies ‍are on ⁢the march because they smell weakness in this White‍ House, and they ⁢see bad policy and bad ‌priorities imposed on the greatest military the world has ever seen and one that‌ should be feared by our allies and right now … is not⁢ respected worldwide.”

Decreased Lethality and a Dangerous World

Van Orden echoed Waltz’s sentiments, stating, “We are⁢ — and I want to put in perspective for people — over six years, ‍the Biden administration wants to ‌spend $280 million ⁣on DEI initiatives, which are something people should be⁣ doing already. Just treat ‌people with respect.” He continued,‍ “But⁢ if⁣ you look at the United States military,‍ right now ‍we are mocked because leadership in ⁢the Pentagon and Joe Biden led us down a road where we have decreased lethality and made⁣ the⁣ world a ‍dangerous place.”

Furthermore, the military is facing recruitment challenges, with the Army ‌falling short by ⁤15,000 recruits and the Navy ⁤experiencing a shortage of 8,000 active-duty sailors and 3,000 reservists.

While the⁤ Pentagon has requested a budget⁣ for ⁤DEI initiatives, the details for its 2024 plans have ‌not been released. This year alone, it is seeking $144 million, following previous requests of $68 million in 2022 and $86.5 million in ‌2023.⁣ Additionally, the Pentagon recently failed its sixth consecutive audit.

It is crucial to address these concerns and ensure that the⁤ military remains ⁤strong, respected, and capable of protecting our nation’s interests.

According to⁢ Reps. Waltz and Van Orden, how does the prioritization of diversity initiatives in the military risk weakening our national ⁣security and the overall effectiveness of our armed forces

Policies on military readiness and ‍effectiveness.

The representatives highlighted their deep respect for the military and their own personal experiences serving their country. As ‍veterans themselves, ‌they⁣ understand firsthand‍ the importance of a strong and unified military that prioritizes mission readiness and effectiveness above all else.

However,⁢ they argue ‍that the Biden administration’s focus on diversity, equity, ⁣and inclusion initiatives is misguided and potentially harmful.‌ They believe that these⁣ policies are being prioritized at the ⁢expense of military readiness and effectiveness, and that such a shift in focus⁢ is detrimental to the overall capabilities of‌ our armed forces.

Reps. Waltz and Van ‌Orden express⁢ serious concerns about the potential impact of the Biden administration’s policies⁢ on recruitment and retention ⁣in the military. They argue that when recruitment⁤ and ⁢promotion decisions are made based‍ on diversity factors rather than on merit, it⁤ undermines the principles of equality and fairness‌ that the military is built upon.

They believe that the military should be a merit-based‌ institution, where individuals are selected and promoted based on their skills, qualifications, and performance. By focusing on diversity and inclusion above all else, they argue that the Biden administration is risking the lowering of standards ‌and the erosion of the trust ‌and confidence that the American people have in their military.

Furthermore, the representatives⁢ assert that the military should be focused on preparing‌ and equipping its forces to tackle ⁢the ever-evolving threats facing our nation. ‍They argue that⁢ diverting resources and attention⁣ to ⁤diversity initiatives detracts from the primary mission of the military, which is to defend and protect the United States and its interests.

Reps. Waltz and Van Orden ‍argue that the Biden administration’s approach to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the military is part of a broader trend of prioritizing identity⁣ politics over the core values and principles that have traditionally guided the armed forces. They express concern that such an approach undermines the professionalism and effectiveness‍ of our military, and ultimately weakens our national security.

In ⁤conclusion, Reps. Waltz and Van Orden vehemently oppose ‌the Biden administration’s approach to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in ⁢the military. They believe that prioritizing these policies over readiness⁣ and effectiveness is detrimental to the capabilities of our armed forces and jeopardizes our national security. ‌They call for a renewed focus ⁤on merit and performance-based evaluations in order to ensure a strong and unified military that can successfully face the challenges of the future.
