U.K.’s Largest Teacher’s Union Votes To Invite More Drag Queens To Schools
This year, the largest teacher’s’s union in the United Kingdom declared that schools all over the nation should embrace drag queens and support more LGBT functions.
The teachers approved a motion to introduce drag queen story hour and other LGBT events to schools in order to combat” heteronormative culture” at the National Education Union( NEU ) meeting this week in Harrogate.
“Initiatives like drag queen story time and inviting LGBT+ authors into schools can help challenge the heteronormative culture and curriculum that dominates education,” the motion read.
One justification for the movement, according to NEU combined director general Mary Bousted, was to counteract Andrew Tate’s’s influence online.
She stated that the NEU is dedicated to sharing and disseminating training materials and techniques to support the success and good learning experiences of all LGBT + academics, including trans and non-binary students.
The motion was approved after a teacher accused Prime Minister Rishi Sunak of” supporting the far-Right attacks on drag queen storytime” and” the murder of beautiful souls like Brianna ] Ghey ,” according to The Telegraph. Early this summer, Ghey, a transgender teen, was fatally stabbed while walking through the garden.
A union spokesman later claimed that the teacher later apologized and clarified that she had not intended to imply the prime minister’s’s involvement in the murder.
She” apologises and retracts the particular claim that Rishi Sunak encouraged the killing of a young trans woman.” Many trans and non-binary faculty strongly believe that the government is not doing enough to sustain them, but the official said it is crucial that we always discuss policy solutions in a cool and collected manner.

Traditional businesses and lawmakers voiced opposition to the teacher union’s’s embrace and publicity of drag queen story hour.
” It is extremely concerning that the NEU is supporting the access of small children to drag kings dressed and acting in a highly sexualized manner in the classroom’s’s purported health.” Miriam Cates, an MP for Penistone and Stocksbridge, said,” I didn’t think that most educators or families would sustain this, and I would drive the NEU to revisit some fundamental maintaining theories.”
According to Tanya Carter, a spokesperson for the Safe School’s’s Alliance, the union” boldness in abandoning established safeguarding the moment they are distracted by sparkle and rainbows brings the whole training profession into disgrace.”
The U. K. government’s’s earlier blockade of a Scottish measure that would change the way that people in Scotland formally alter their designated gender served as part of the impetus for the test.
