U.S. aid to Ukraine tops $200 million per congressional district

The U.S. could have given Ukraine $200 million per congressional district, as Rep. Thomas Massie (Republican from Kentucky) noted before Congress passed the $1.7 trillion Omnibus Spending Bill, which grants billions of taxpayer dollars to Ukraine.

“$100 billion to Ukraine. Let’s put that in perspective. That’s more than $200 million this year from each Congressional district,” Massie explained.

“What could your congressman have done for your district with $200 million? How long will the kids in your district be paying interest on this debt?” He asked:

Ukraine: $100 billion Let’s put that in perspective.

That’s more than $200 million this year from each Congressional district.

Massie’s observation came ahead of both chambers of Congress passing the massive $1.7 trillion spending billUkraine is also awarded $45 billion by the U.S. These funds are in addition to the $66 million that the U.S. taxpayers have already donated to Ukraine over this past year.

As Breitbart News reported:

The sum would surpass the estimated U.S. average per year for a full-scale conflict in Afghanistan. There were more than 100 thousand troops sent to the country at any one time.

The Biden administration pledged to support Ukraine for “as long as it takes.”

In fact, the $45 Billion in the Omnibus Spending Bill exceeds the $37 Billion requested by Biden’s administration for Ukraine aid.
