U.S. And Bill Gates Partner To Provide Millions For ‘Digital Gender Equality’ In Africa
By contributing millions in taxpayer and private funds to the project, the U.S. Agency for International Development ( USAID) is working with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to advance” digital gender equality” in Africa and around the world.
The funds will come from the recently established Women in Digital Economy Fund, which Vice President Kamala Harris announced, and will be used, among other things, to support organizations that give women access to telephones,” internet literacy ,” and work on how to respond to” social standards” in the modern world.
The Gates Foundation will contribute$ 10 million, with at least half of each commitment focused on Africa, and USAID plans to contribute up to$ 50 million in Gender Equity and Equality Action ( GEEA ) fund resources toward this effort over the next four years, subject to the availability of funds.
The program, according to USAID, offers a great chance for public and private sector cooperation. The development company claims that the bank will” support, wherever possible, women-led options, products, and tools.”
The push for” digital gender equity” comes as USAID unveiled a new” gender equality and women’s’s empowerment” platform last month that called for ensuring that all people in the world have access to contraception as part of their policy objectives.
USAID was assisting in bringing” improved access, quality, and use of health care for all individuals across the life course, including gender-difference and LGBTQI + individuals ,” with a particular focus on sexual and reproductive health and rights, according to the policy.
According to the new framework,” USAID affirms that the development of sex equality depends on the advertising of the rights of people who are gender-differenced and who have gender identities other than those of men or women.”

This was related to another objective of USAID, which was stated in the frame for” strengthening”” health services to offer integrated, client-centered, polite, gender-affirming, and high-quality care.”
The opening of” India’s’s first transgender clinic ,” which offers” guidance and medication on hormone therapy and gender affirmation procedures ,” has previously received support from USAID.
Gender ideology has also been pushed worldwide by many Biden administration organizations, including by encouraging transgender health clinics and enlarging formal identifications for both men and women.
For example, the U.S. Consulate General Kolkata aided in the opening of “the first transgender clinic in eastern India,” in February 2020, according to Share America, the State Department’s news platform.
Elsewhere in India, the U.S. Consulate Chennai has promoted “pride” and hosted events about “pride in American literature.”
