U.S. Tells Its Citizens to Leave Russia Immediately
Monday’s order by the U.S. State Department All U.S. citizens living in Russia must leave As the war in Ukraine escalates, and concerns about arbitrary detentions increase, it is imperative that you act immediately.
“U.S. citizens residing or traveling in Russia should depart immediately,” The U.S. Embassy in Moscow issued a warning. “Exercise increased caution due to the risk of wrongful detentions.”
The department also sent a clear message: “Do not travel to Russia.”

The embassy stated that it was unable to assist Russian citizens due to travel restrictions, staffing limitations and suspension of consular services.
All Americans were warned to immediately seek refuge in the country and reminded that U.S. credit and debit cards are not accepted in Russia and that electronic transfers of funds have become more difficult because of sanctions.
“Russian security services have arrested U.S. citizens on spurious charges, singled out U.S. citizens in Russia for detention and harassment, denied them fair and transparent treatment, and convicted them in secret trials or without presenting credible evidence,” The embassy was added.
Fox News Digital couldn’t immediately reach the State Department to comment on the reason for the warning and whether this suggested a possible escalation in war in Ukraine.
