Ultimate guide to the parties and balls in DC on inauguration weekend

Festivities for President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on Monday commence in the nation’s capital this weekend. 

From a fireworks show at Trump’s golf resort outside Washington, D.C., to three inaugural balls on Jan. 20, the capital will be alive with activity as the country prepares for the incoming 47th president of the United States. 

Here’s everything you need to know for various parties, meetings, and events Washington has planned ahead of the inauguration. Find further information about tickets and other details by clicking on the hyperlinked event.

FRIDAY

The Crypto Ball

Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium, 1301 Constitution Ave. NW. 8 p.m. – Midnight

The first-ever event of its kind, the gala will be hosted by David Sacks, Trump’s appointed artificial intelligence and crypto czar. Rapper Snoop Dogg is rumored to be performing at the event.

Kentucky Society of Washington 2025 Bluegrass Ball

Washington Hilton, 1919 Connecticut Ave NW. 5:30-11:55 p.m. 

Hundreds of guests are set to attend the Kentucky ball, including elected officials, political insiders, celebrities, and Washington influencers. Dignitaries, including Kentucky’s congressional delegation, senators, and governor, as well as federal Cabinet members, have also historically attended the Bluegrass Ball. 

SATURDAY

Saturday is when Trump will kick off his inaugural weekend. Along with his wife, Melania, and some of his family members, Trump will attend a President’s Reception and fireworks at his golf club in Sterling, Virginia. 

Later in the day, Trump will appear at a Cabinet reception and vice president’s dinner. Vice President-elect J.D. Vance and incoming Cabinet members will be present. 

Young Republican Inaugural Ball After Party

1221 Van St SE. 9 p.m. – midnight

The Young Republican National Federation is hosting the event a Mission in Navy Yard.

All American Inaugural Ball 2025

Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill, 400 New Jersey Ave NW. 6 p.m. – midnight

Sean Spicer, Trump’s White House Press Secretary during his first term in office, will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the star-spangled gala. The gala will also honor Lee Greenwood as an All American Hero Award winner. Roughly 2,000 attendees, including elected officials, political insiders, celebrities, Washington influencers, and business leaders are expected at the event.

The Georgia State Society 2025 Peachtree Ball

Union Station, 50 Massachusetts Ave. NE. 7-11 p.m.

Hundreds of attendees, including dignitaries from across Georgia and the nation are expected to be at the gala, according to event coordinators. The event is sponsored by major Georgia companies, including Aflac, Coca-Cola, and UPS.

Midwest Inaugural Gala

National Museum of the Women in the Arts, 1250 New York Ave NW. 7:30 p.m.

    The event will be hosted by the South Dakota State Society, the State Society of Iowa, and the Illinois State Society.

    The 2025 Inaugural Peace Ball: Voices of Justice and Liberation

    Arena Stage, 1101 6th Street SW. 8 p.m.-midnight

    This event catered to left-wingers will be hosted by the Busboys and Poets restaurant franchise in Washington. Musical performers will include Sweet Honey in the Rock. Special speakers will reportedly include Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), former Rep. Cori Bush, and more.

    North Carolina Society 2025 Inaugural Ball

    Mellon Auditorium, 1301 Constitution Ave. NW. 8 p.m. – midnight

    Members of North Carolina’s congressional delegation and statewide elected officials are expected to attend.

    SUNDAY

    Trump will reportedly attend the One America, One Light prayer service in Washington on Sunday. The interfaith service featuring U.S. military bands will allegedly offer worshipers the opportunity to pray with the president-elect.  

    He is also scheduled to visit the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery for a wreath-laying ceremony.

    In the afternoon, he’ll speak to thousands of supporters gathered for a Make America Great Again victory rally scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. in Capital One Arena. The event will include a performance by the Village People, Billy Ray Cyrus, Kid Rock, and Lee Greenwood. Following the rally, Trump is set to deliver remarks at a candlelight dinner with campaign donors.

    The Black Conservative Federation’s Legacy of Freedom Ball

    Address provided with registration. 7 p.m.

    The guest list includes former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown, rappers Waka Flocka and Fivio Foreign, and conservative YouTubers The Cartier Family and Anton Daniels. The “honorary event chairs” include some of Congress’s black GOP members, including Reps. Byron Donalds (R-FL) and Wesley Hunt (R-TX). Former NFL player Jack Brewer is on the guest list as are Florida’s former Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll and Dr. Alveda King, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. 

    Turning Point Inaugural Eve Ball

    Address provided with registration. 8 p.m.

    The event will be attended by prominent Trump allies, Cabinet nominees, and conservative activists, including Vance, Donald Trump Jr., Tulsi Gabbard, Vivek Ramaswamy, Glenn Beck, and Charlie Kirk. Musical performers will include Scott Lobaido, Steve Amerson, and the Village People.

    Texas State Society 2025 Black Tie and Boots Ball

    Washington Hilton, 1919 Connecticut Ave NW. 7 p.m.

    The Lil’ & Elite Wranglers will perform at the ball.

    The Palmetto Presidential Inaugural Ball

    National Portrait Gallery, 8th and G St. NW. 7 p.m. – midnight

    Previously known as the South Carolina Inaugural Ball, the event is expected to see over 2,000 attendees.

    H100 Latino Inaugural Ball

    Mayflower Hotel, 1127 Connecticut Ave NW. 8 p.m. – 11 p.m.

    The gala at the Mayflower Hotel is expected to attract 700 attendees representing the “Who’s Who” of political, policy, business, and community leaders, as well as well-known leaders and influencers.

    The George Washington University Inaugural Ball

    Omni Shoreham Hotel, 2500 Calvert St NW. 8 p.m. – midnight

    The annual event has been held every year since 1993, giving students a chance to celebrate being politically active in the heart of Washington.

    The New York GOP Welcome Breakfast

    8 a.m. – 10 a.m.

    Members of the New York State delegation will attend the event, which will also feature addresses from guest speakers. The delegation will wrap up Sunday evening with a cocktail party from 7-10 p.m. that will feature country music duo LoCash.

    INAUGURATION DAY

    Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast

    Waldorf Astoria Presidential ballroom, 100 Pennsylvania Ave. NW. 7 a.m. -1 p.m.

    A Washington tradition, leaders have gathered for the prayer breakfast for 30 years to begin Inauguration Day. Notable event attendees include Alveda King, Nigerian gospel artist and pastor Nathaniel Bassey, Rabbi Mario Bramnick, Dr. Mike Kingsley, revivalist Rebecca Macchi, and the Rev. Merrie Turner. Trump and Vance are invited but unconfirmed.

    New York GOP Inauguration Watch Party

    Capital Grille, 601 Pennsylvania Ave. NW. 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

    The state delegation’s gathering at Capital Grill will feature a view of the Inaugural Parade.

    JCCIC Congressional Luncheon  

    This is the traditional lunch the new president and their spouse have traditionally attended after the swearing-in ceremony since 1953. It is typically also attended by the vice president and their spouses, and Senate leaders. Trump will be in attendance. Former presidents typically grace the event. However, the three living former presidents — former Presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush — are reportedly skipping the luncheon this year.

    Mark Zuckerberg’s black-tie reception

    6:30 – 10 p.m.

    The Meta CEO will host the event prior to the evening inaugural balls in Washington. Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta, who is set to become the new U.S. ambassador to Italy, former Republican National Committee finance Chairman Todd Ricketts, and Dallas Mavericks owner Miriam Adelson are co-hosts fo the event.

    Trump will attend three balls on Inauguration Day: the Commander in Chief Ball focused on military service members, the Liberty Inaugural Ball geared toward Trump supporters, and the Starlight Ball focused on high-dollar donors. He is also scheduled to speak at all three events. 

    The official balls require tickets to be requested through the 60th Presidential Inaugural Committee.

    The Commander in Chief Ball will be Trump’s first gala of the evening. Rascal Flatts and country singer Parker McCollum will hit the stage.

    The Liberty Ball is the second of the two balls Trump will swing by. Country music star Jason Aldean is expected to perform along with another “surprise” musical guest.

    The Starlight Ball is the last gala the president-elect is set to attend. Gavin DeGraw will perform at the event.

    Besides the official inaugural balls, there will be a host of other more informal galas Washington has scheduled.

    The Make America Healthy Again Ball

    Waldorf Astoria, 1100 Pennsylvania Ave. NW. 7 p.m.

    Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the founder of the so-called MAHA movement and Trump’s pick to be Heath and Human Services secretary, will be in attendance at the gala. Gospel singer Jimmy Levy will be performing.

    Rally4Vets Inaugural Ball

    The Fairmont, 2401 M St. NW. 6 – 11:30 p.m.

    This military ball will honor those who have served as well as bring focus to the support needed for their mental health and well-being.

    The Bipartisan Inaugural Ball: Celebrating American Agriculture

    The Grand Hyatt, 1000 H St. NW. 8 p.m. – midnight

    A celebration of bipartisanship and agriculture, the event with feature musical artists The District, Alejandro Escovedo and will benefit D.C. Central Kitchen.

    TUESDAY

    2025 DC Forum: Trump Inauguration – Shaping US-China Business & Investment

    Hilton at The Wharf, 480 L’Enfant Plaza SW. 10:30 a.m. -3 p.m.

    Geopolitical experts will explore the potential effects of the Trump administration on bilateral trade and investment between the United States and China.

    National Prayer Service

    Washington National Cathedral, 11 a.m.

    This will be the final inaugural activity, with both Trump and Vance expected to be in attendance.

    Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the archbishop of New York, will provide the opening invocation along with the Rev. Franklin Graham, head of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
