AP reports that Washington law protects trans minors from their parents.
The Lapdog Media’s Latest Talking Points: “Kids Need Protection from Their Parents”
On Wednesday, the Associated Press ran a headline that read “Trans Minors Protected From Parents Under Washington Law.” At first glance, one might suspect that it was a typo of some sort. However, the lede of the article doubled down on that twisted language, stating that “Minors seeking gender-affirming care in Washington will be protected from the intervention of estranged parents under a measure Gov. Jay Inslee signed into law Tuesday.”
Of course, this sentence is filled with imprecise language and double-speak. “Gender-affirming care” encompasses child mutilation and confusion. “Estranged parents” could include parents who don’t want their kids to undergo sex denialism and gender-rejection efforts.
The Government Superseding Parental Rights
Democratic Governor Jay Inslee said that the purpose of this bill is to adopt “a more compassionate, developmentally appropriate, and reasoned approach to support these youth as they access gender-affirming treatment and reproductive health care services.” In other words, Inslee wants the state to supersede the parental right of deciding what’s best for their kids. It isn’t a stretch to see that the government will next take kids from their homes, under the guise of saying that so-called “transgender youths” are being abused by their parents who deny them “access” to life-changing procedures.
The Left’s Anti-Family Propaganda
The Left thinks parents shouldn’t have authority over their children, and the AP is all-too-happy to promote that collectivist, anti-family propaganda. This law allows licensed facilities and foster homes to notify Washington State’s Department of Children, Youth, and Families if a minor comes to said shelters seeking help because their parent won’t let them undergo sex denialism and gender-rejection efforts. Then, the state Department of Children, Youth, and Families is mandated to make a “‘good faith attempt’ to notify parents after they are contacted by shelters or host homes and offer services designed to ‘resolve the conflict and accomplish a reunification of the family.'” In the interim, children who run away from their homes are allowed to stay at host homes separate from their families.
Conclusion
The government should not be allowed to supersede parental rights. Parents have the right to decide what’s best for their children, and the government should not be allowed to interfere with that. This law is just another example of the Left’s anti-family propaganda, and it’s time for parents to stand up and fight back.
