UPDATE: Failed Candidate Beto O’Rourke Is Still the Sweatiest Democrat in America

Failed candidate Beto O’Rourke remains the sweatiest Democrat in America today, a Washington Free Beacon analysis has found.

O’Rourke became a national celebrity in 2018 by failing to defeat Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas) and a national embarrassment in 2020 by launching a presidential campaign on the cover of Vanity Fair before failing to receive a single vote in the Democratic primary. He is reportedly considering a failed run for governor.

In addition to having a teaching gig at Texas State University, the failed politician has become a community organizer of sorts, registering voters and rallying local Democrats to support the national party’s campaign against so-called Republican voter suppression.

Texas gets hot in the summer, so this line of work involves a lot of perspiration, even for the average Democrat. O’Rourke, however, is anything but average when it comes to his capacity to sweat. The opening line of a 2018 BuzzFeed puff piece described him as a “prolific, prodigious sweater.”

That assessment is still an accurate one, according to our analysis of Beto’s social media accounts. The following photographs, for example, were posted over the weekend after a voting rights rally in Houston.

It’s unclear if Beto’s ability to retain his status as the sweatiest Democrat will redound to his benefit politically. A Getty Images search for “Beto sweat” returns a number of borderline erotic closeups of the wet politician from 2018, when his celebrity status among liberals was at its height.

Alas, that was before Beto announced his failed campaign for president. His celebrity status as a Democrat running against Cruz in Texas did not carry over onto the national stage, where liberals assailed him as an entitled brat, forcing him to issue a demeaning public apology for his “white privilege.”

The Free Beacon will continue to monitor this developing story.
