US Office of Palestinian Affairs removes post urging Israel to avoid violence.

The United States Office of⁣ Palestinian Affairs Calls for an End to ‍Violence

The United ⁤States Office of ‌Palestinian Affairs⁤ recently made ‌an effort ⁢to calm the ‌ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel. In a now-deleted post on X, ‌the office urged for an end to violence after Hamas launched numerous rockets and sent fighters ⁢into Israel during the ‌celebration ⁣of Simchat Torah, a‍ significant Jewish holiday. It ⁢is‍ important to note that ⁢Hamas has also captured several Israelis.

“Terror and violence‍ will solve⁢ nothing”

“We⁤ unequivocally condemn the attack of Hamas terrorists and the loss of life that has incurred,” the post ⁢read. “We urge all sides to refrain from‌ violence and retaliatory attacks.⁣ Terror and violence solve nothing.”

Although the original post is no longer available, screenshots of ‍it can still be found on the platform. One screenshot even⁤ shows that it had garnered over ‍14,000 views at some point. The account has since reposted statements ⁣of support for Israel by Department of‌ State spokesman Matthew Miller and Secretary of ‍State Antony Blinken. White House National Security ⁤Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson also issued her own statement.

United ‌States Stands with Israel

“The U.S. unequivocally condemns the unprovoked attacks by Hamas terrorists ⁣against Israeli civilians. There is never any justification for ‌terrorism. We stand firmly with⁢ the Government ⁢and people of Israel and extend ⁣our condolences for the Israeli lives lost in these attacks,” Watson wrote. “National Security Advisor⁢ Jake Sullivan has spoken ‍to Israeli⁤ National Security Advisor Tzachi Hanegbi‌ and we remain in close contact‌ with our Israeli partners.”

Watson dismissed any speculation ⁤that U.S. funds contributed to the escalation of the ⁣conflict, labeling it as “disinformation.” She emphasized that these funds ⁣have no connection ‌to‌ the recent⁣ attacks.

It is ⁤worth noting ‌that the last time Israel experienced rocket fire⁤ was in January, when the Islamic Jihad in Gaza launched ⁣two rockets in response to an Israeli raid‍ on a ⁢refugee camp.⁢ Fortunately, these rockets did not cause any casualties. Israel retaliated with ‌air strikes ⁣on Gaza at‌ that time.

It is our collective⁢ responsibility to seek an ⁣end⁢ to the violence and ensure ⁤a better ⁣future for both Israelis and Palestinians.⁢ Together,⁢ we can ⁣overcome the current challenges and ⁣work towards a just and sustainable ⁢peace in the⁢ region.

In conclusion, the United States Office of Palestinian⁤ Affairs seeks an immediate cessation of ⁢hostilities between Hamas and Israel. ⁣Dialogue and ⁤diplomacy should replace violence as the means to resolve the ongoing conflict.
