Virginia Supports Texas’: Gov. Youngkin Strongly Opposes Biden on Border Conflict

Siding with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott ⁤(R) on⁢ Wednesday,⁢ Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin‍ (R) criticized⁤ President Joe Biden and his “border czar” for continued problems at ⁣the ⁢Mexico/U.S. border.

Abbott is in ‍a dispute with the White House ⁢over ‍the security at the border. According to Abbott, Texas has a “constitutional right to self-defense,” and therefore the ‍right to ⁣try to secure ‍the Texas border if Biden refuses to enforce federal ⁤immigration laws.

“Virginia stands with Texas,” Youngkin ‍posted⁤ to X on Wednesday, captioning⁤ a lengthy statement from Abbott concerning the border dispute.

“Greg ⁣Abbott is⁣ doing the ⁤job Joe Biden and his border czar refuse to do to secure our border,” Youngkin continued, referencing U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security⁢ Alejandro Mayorkas.

“The⁣ Biden⁤ administration has turned every state ‌into a border state,” the Virginia governor continued. “We must stop the flow ‍of fentanyl, save lives, and secure‍ our southern border.”

Abbott’s statement accuses Biden of violating ⁤his oath of office and facilitating ‍an illegal immigration invasion of Texas.

“The Executive Branch of the United States has a constitutional⁢ duty to enforce federal laws protecting States, including⁤ immigration laws on the books ⁣right now,” the statement says, as‌ reported by The Daily Wire. “President Biden has instructed his agencies to ‍ignore ‌federal statutes that mandate the‌ detention of illegal immigrants.

“The failure of the Biden Administration ‍to fulfill⁣ the duties imposed by Article IV, § 4 has triggered Article I, § 10, Clause 3, which reserves to this State the right of⁢ self-defense,” Abbott continued. “For these reasons, I have already declared an invasion under Article I, § 10, Clause 3 to invoke⁣ Texas’s constitutional authority to defend‍ and protect itself. That authority is the supreme law of the land and supersedes any ⁣federal statutes to⁣ the contrary.”

Abbott last year‍ sued the Biden administration to stop cutting ⁤razor wire the ⁢governor had placed along his ⁣state’s border to try to ⁤deter illegals⁣ from crossing into⁤ Texas. Earlier ⁣this week, the Supreme Court ruled 5-4 to ⁤lift an injunction against ‍U.S. Border Patrol ⁤agents cutting‍ through the wire.

How does Governor Youngkin’s support for Governor Abbott’s stance on‌ the ‌border crisis reflect growing concerns among Republican governors ‌about the Biden administration’s‌ handling of the issue?

Of the⁤ United States Constitution, ⁤also known as the Guarantee Clause. This clause requires the federal government to protect⁤ states from invasion and domestic violence. It is clear‌ that the Biden administration’s lax approach⁤ to immigration enforcement is jeopardizing the safety and security of Texas and other border states.”

Youngkin’s⁢ support ‌for Abbott’s stance emphasizes the growing concern among Republican governors about the handling of the border crisis by the Biden administration. The influx⁣ of illegal immigrants, coupled with the smuggling of drugs like⁢ fentanyl, poses a significant threat to⁤ public safety and ‌national security.

It is crucial to acknowledge that border security is not solely a Texas problem but a national‌ issue. As Youngkin rightly points out, ⁤the Biden administration’s failure to effectively secure the border has turned every state into ⁤a border state. The flow of illegal drugs, particularly fentanyl, has reached alarming levels, leading to an increase in overdoses and deaths across the United States. This crisis requires immediate action and a comprehensive strategy to combat drug smuggling and human‌ trafficking.

Moreover, Governor Youngkin’s statement highlights the need for federal assistance ⁢and‍ cooperation in addressing the border crisis. The burden ‌cannot be solely placed on the states, as it is‍ the federal government’s responsibility to enforce⁤ immigration laws and ‍protect ‌the borders. Failure to do so ‌not only undermines national security but also undermines the trust and confidence citizens have in their government’s ability to address critical issues.

The accusations made by Abbott against President Biden’s‍ handling of immigration enforcement raise⁣ significant concerns regarding ⁣the oath of office. As the statement asserts, the president has⁢ a constitutional duty to ⁤enforce federal laws, including immigration laws. By disregarding ‌these laws and instructing agencies to ignore ⁤them, the Biden administration is undermining⁤ the rule of law and‍ disregarding the well-being of ‍American citizens.

In conclusion, Governor Glenn Youngkin’s support of Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s⁣ stance on the ⁢border‌ dispute is a significant move in highlighting the failures of the Biden administration in securing the border. The influx of illegal ⁤immigrants and the smuggling of ‌dangerous drugs pose a grave threat to public safety and the well-being of American citizens. It is ⁤essential for the federal government to fulfill its⁢ constitutional duty‌ and cooperate with states ⁢in addressing this crisis effectively. Only through ‍a comprehensive and united effort can we secure ⁣the border, save lives, and ⁤preserve the integrity of our‌ nation.
