Walt Disney would be shocked by his company’s current state.

Walt Disney: From Pop Culture Icon to Political Figure

There’s no denying that Walt Disney, and the company he founded, is one of the greatest pop culture icons of the 20th century. His influence continues to shape our world today.

Walt Disney’s vision was to create entertainment that appealed to both children and adults, which is a key reason for Disney’s enduring legacy. He believed in the ideals and dreams that built America, and he wanted Disneyland to be a source of joy and inspiration for the entire world.

“Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America, with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.” – Walt Disney

One of the first areas visitors experience when entering the park is Main Street U.S.A., which Walt Disney wanted to represent “everyone’s hometown” and “the heart line of America.”

The Modern Disney Company: A Departure from Walt’s Vision

However, many conservatives argue that the modern Walt Disney Company has strayed far from Walt’s wholesome and patriotic vision. In recent years, the company has been embroiled in the culture wars, incorporating nods to leftist ideologies in its movies and television content.

From transgenderism to reparations, the company has filled its recent content with references to leftist ideas. One executive producer even boasted about her “not-at-all-secret gay agenda” during a staff meeting.

Furthermore, the company has clashed with the state of Florida over legislation that prohibits schools from teaching certain topics to young children.

Walt Disney’s Political Journey

Interestingly, Walt Disney’s own political journey took a different path. Born in Chicago in 1901, Disney initially had little interest in politics. He focused on his passion for drawing and pursued a career in cartoons.

However, as the world changed around him, Disney’s political views evolved. He became a staunch anti-communist and a passionate advocate for American ideals.

During World War II, Disney’s studio produced propaganda films to support the war effort. He also endorsed Thomas Dewey, the Republican nominee, in the 1944 presidential election.

Disney’s involvement in politics was driven by his experiences with labor disputes and his belief that American communists were behind them. However, he never discriminated against employees based on their political leanings.

The Contrast Between Founder and Company

The stark contrast between Walt Disney and the modern Disney Company is evident. While Walt Disney was personally a Republican, he tried to stay out of politics as much as possible. In contrast, the modern company seems to be driven by leftist ideologues who inject politics into their products.

As the Disney legacy continues to evolve, it’s clear that the values and vision of its founder have been overshadowed by a more politically charged agenda.
