The Washington Examiner received two runner-up awards at the inaugural Dao Prize for Excellence in Investigative Journalism, presented by Young America’s Foundation and the National Journalism Center. Investigative Reporter Gabe Kaminsky was recognized for his ongoing work on political financing, particularly titled “Bidenbucks: How Democrats Weaponize Elections With Left-Wing Dark Money Allies.” Immigration Reporter Anna Giaritelli also earned a runner-up award for her extensive coverage of the immigration crisis, addressing significant issues such as migrant release policies and the challenges faced by border agents. Both Kaminsky and Giaritelli have been contributing impactful journalism at the Washington Examiner, showcasing their commitment to investigative reporting.

The Washington Examiner brought home two awards from the National Journalism Center’s Dao Prize for Excellence in Investigative Journalism on Wednesday night.
Young America’s Foundation and the National Journalism Center handed out the inaugural award in 2023, and a year later, Investigative Reporter Gabe Kaminsky returned to the ceremony as a finalist, along with Immigration Reporter Anna Giaritelli.
The award for investigative journalism is awarded to journalists who stand out for “accuracy and courage” during a time when “trust in media hovers near record lows.”
Kaminsky, who has been with the Washington Examiner for two years, received a runner-up award for his ongoing coverage of “Bidenbucks: How Democrats Weaponize Elections With Left-Wing Dark Money Allies,” including:
