During a speech outside Independence Hall Thursday, President Joe Biden called “MAGA Republicans” a threat to “the very foundations of our republic” and “the very soul of this country.” Members of the media, of course, cheered him on.

“It was a very, very patriotic speech,” said CNN national politics reporter Eva McKend. “This speech, it really felt like a reset—like a reset that the president, the administration really felt like they needed.”
