SAN FRANCISCO AVANCES ITS REPARATIONS PLAN, HAS ZERO IDEA HOW TO PAY IT

“What about the reparations in San Francisco? Does that go too far? $5 million?” Maher asked Yang to help him.

The Michigan congressman replied confused. “I don’t know much about…”

“Well, San Francisco — they are going forward with this plan to give reparations of $5 million — I said this earlier in the monologue — which is quite a lot, to individuals,” He explained the matter to the panelists.

“Even I didn’t go this far,” Yang, who suggested a universal basic salary in his 2020 presidential campaign, joked. Real-Time Live audience laughter.

Slotkin was confused by Maher’s story about San Francisco’s plan of reparations.

“So, $5 million dollars total?” He was interested in her question.

“$5 million and a house for $1 — they buy you a house,” He said.

The city’s reparations committee made over 100 recommendations in a draft plan for reparations to address systematic racism. Members of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors are growing supportive of the idea of $5 million for every black adult and San Francisco homes for $1 per family.

Stanford University’s Hoover Institution calculated that it would cost every non-black family at the city at least $600,000. Only 6% are black in San Francisco.

Maher then stood by his monologues “talking against the woke craziness” Because “it is crazy.”

“San Francisco doesn’t even have a history of slavery,” The HBO host spoke out.

“It would cost every citizen left $600,000 each. This is madness, is it not?” He then asked his panel.

Yang called the plan for reparations “a political proposal” And tried to analyze the push in San Francisco.

“We have a lot of people at various stages of public office who are putting out bills and policies that are more for the messaging and stoking the fires on social media than actually trying to get something passed,” Yang said. “That’s what we need to undo.”
