Vice President Kamala Harris Roasted for “Cringey” Dance Moves at White House Party
Vice President Kamala Harris recently found herself at the center of online ridicule for her dance moves during a White House party commemorating the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. A video clip of Harris grooving to Q-Tip’s 1999 hit, “Vivrant Thing,” went viral, sparking a wave of criticism.
Clad in vibrant hot pink slacks and a neon blouse that harkened back to the 90s, Harris danced in place with a nod and raised hands, sporting her usual restrained smile. However, it was clear that she only knew the lyrics to the chorus, and she appeared a bit lost at times. Nevertheless, she eventually found her groove with a simple dance routine, swaying from one foot to the other with one hand raised in the air.
Critics wasted no time lampooning the vice president for what they deemed as unimpressive dance moves at the outdoor celebration. The New York Post reported that the online backlash was swift and merciless.

In June, she appeared on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” where her awkward dance moves and hesitant laughter became the target of playful ridicule. Host Andy Cohen even quipped, “I bet you’re fun at a gay bar,” according to Fox News.
Political commentator Anthony Brian Logan took to X (formerly Twitter) to comment on Harris’ dance moves, referring to them as “granny moves” at her own 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop party. Conservative commentator Benny Johnson also joined in, posting on the platform, “Your daily dose of Kamala cringe.”
Some X users even compared Harris’ dancing to Elaine Benes, a fictional character from the popular sitcom “Seinfeld.” The online mockery continued, with Twitter users sharing their thoughts on Harris’ dance moves and her distinctive laugh.
While some critics couldn’t resist injecting politics into the discussion, highlighting the pressing issues the nation faces, others simply found humor in the contrast between Harris’ enjoyment of a music-related party and the country’s challenges, such as the border crisis, inflation, and the aftermath of devastating fires in Maui.
Despite the online backlash, Harris remains focused on her role as Vice President, addressing the nation’s pressing issues while occasionally letting loose on the dance floor.
