Counter-Protesters Clash with Catholic Students Over Drag Queen Story Hours

During a demonstration against the sexualization of children and so-called drag⁤ queen story hours, Catholic students were met ⁢with aggression from counter-protesters. ⁤The incident, which took place outside the Art Institute of Chicago,⁤ was captured on video and shared by TFP Student Action, a Catholic ⁤activist group.

The students, holding signs with messages such as “Honk! Stop Promoting LGBT Lifestyle to Kids,” received a mixed reaction‌ from bystanders. ⁣One woman, who identified herself‌ as a ‌math teacher, expressed strong support for the students’ cause, acknowledging the importance of open dialogue and respectful‌ conversations. However, not everyone shared this sentiment.

As the demonstration continued, tensions escalated. A man‍ passing‍ by with⁣ a dog hurled insults at one of the‍ students, calling them a “hateful bigot” and dismissing their concerns as unrealistic. Another woman approached the group, accusing them of spreading hate and attempting to ⁣grab a protester’s camera.‍ She defiantly declared, “Spread the hate, it’s lovely,” before walking ‌away.

The‍ students persisted, chanting slogans like “biology ⁤is not ⁣bigotry” and “innocence is a God-given right.” However, their peaceful protest was disrupted by counter-protesters. One individual with a bullhorn shouted profanities,⁢ dismissing the concerns over drag queen story ⁣time as unfounded. Another woman, with fiery red hair, interrupted the⁤ students’ prayer ‌session, proclaiming that LGBT rights ⁣are human rights and labeling the ⁣students as bigots.

Later in the day, the red-haired woman returned with⁣ a can of spray paint. She allegedly vandalized the students’ signs and sprayed paint on their clothes, causing chaos and distress. The incident ended before the arrival of the ‍police, leaving the students to contemplate pressing assault charges against the assailant.

Rex Teodosio, the leader of TFP Student Action, was directly targeted during the attack. He was hit in⁣ the face with spray paint, causing his eyes to burn for hours. In a press‌ release, Teodosio expressed his ⁣determination to protect the innocence of children ‍and shield them from grooming and corruption, despite the sacrifices made.
