WATCH: Senator John Kennedy Claims Political Undertones of Trump’s Indictment are Undermining the Judicial System

Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) voiced his opinion on the potential indictment of former President Donald Trump, stating that the political undertones surrounding the case have landed a blow to the integrity of the judicial system.

“America’s institutions should never be perceived as being political,” Kennedy expressed on Fox and Friends. “Allowing American institutions to appear to be politicized, whether or not they are, will undermine our judicial system. Our judicial system was a significant reason as to why America became one of the most exceptional countries in all of human history. This is also why many people want to come here, and business folks seek investment opportunities here.”

Kennedy criticized the impartiality of Manhattan Democratic District Attorney Alvin Bragg, implying that he is bias towards one side of the coin.

“[Bragg] presents more like an advocate instead of an objective attorney. He puts police officers ahead of felons, and he declines to prosecute numerous crimes,” Kennedy disclosed. “If he isn’t careful with his approach, he has the potential to impact this essential institution significantly. I would articulate the same opinion if the shoe were on the other foot.”

As various reports suggest that Bragg is preparing to file charges against Trump regarding hush money payments towards porn star Stormy Daniels in 2016, Kennedy shared no comments regarding how the indictment could impact the 2024 elections as he reiterates his past predictions that “the experts will always be wrong.”

Responding to Trump’s calls for protests amid his possible indictment, Kennedy shared, “You are free to protest. However, you are not truly free if you protest and do not peacefully express yourself. Do not be a knucklehead and cause a commotion.”
