WATCH LIVE: Biden addresses United Nations at 79th session of General Assembly
President Joe Biden will address the 79th United Nations General Assembly in New York City at 10:00 a.m.
Biden’s remarks to the General Assembly will be his last as president. It is his first speech to the General Assembly since Hamas massacred Israeli civilians and soldiers in its Oct. 7 attack last year. Since then, some world leaders have refused to support Israel as it continues its attacks in Gaza.
National Security Council spokesman John Kirby told reporters last week that “the president will deliver an address to the U.N. General Assembly outlining his vision for how the world should come together to solve these big problems and defend fundamental principles, such as the U.N. Charter.”
