Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell will deliver a semiannual testimony to the House Financial Services Committee on Wednesday morning.
The Fed could start cutting interest rates this year from their 23-year high of about 5.4% as inflation has fallen in recent months.
Powell will address the House committee at 10 a.m. Eastern time and will deliver remarks to the Senate Banking Committee on Thursday.
