The briefing comes as fires continue to rage in Los Angeles. Multiple fires have already burned thousands of homes, businesses, schools, and places of worship since they began last week. The largest fire, the Palisades Fire, is 19% contained as of Wednesday.

Israel and Hamas have also reached a ceasefire agreement to end fighting in Gaza as President Joe Biden’s administration comes to an end.

The ceasefire deal will begin with an exchange of some of the hostages who have been held in Gaza for Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, according to the Wall Street Journal.
