Three university presidents, including those from Rutgers University, Northwestern University, and the University of California, Los Angeles, are scheduled to testify before the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. The hearing, “Calling for Accountability: Stopping Antisemitic College Chaos,” will focus on addressing antisemitic behavior on campus. Members of the committee will question the presidents on their responses to these incidents.
Three leading university presidents are set to testify before the House Committee on Education and the Workforce at a hearing titled “Calling for Accountability: Stopping Antisemitic College Chaos.”
The presidents of Rutgers University and Northwestern University, as well as the chancellor of the University of California, Los Angeles, will be grilled by members of the committee about their response to the antisemitic conduct that has run rampant on their campuses.
A committee spokesperson explained to the Washington Examiner why these particular universities are being put under the microscope. “Northwestern, Rutgers, and UCLA have done nothing but appease the antisemitic agitators on their campuses. Northwestern and Rutgers leadership caved to antisemitic rulebreakers while UCLA administrators stood by as protesters in the antisemitic encampment assaulted Jewish students and blocked their access to campus,” he said.
Rutgers and Northwestern have made several concessions to anti-Israel protesters since the last congressional hearing on campus antisemitism, while at UCLA, Jewish students were blocked from going to class, and violence broke out between protester groups after a Jewish student was allegedly knocked unconscious near the anti-Israel encampment.

In previewing how the presidents of Rutgers, Northwestern, and UCLA will be grilled, the committee spokesperson said that “the Committee expects the presidents of these universities to answer for their abject failure to preserve order and protect Jewish students.”
The hearing is slated to begin at 9:45 a.m. and will take place at the Capitol in the Rayburn House Office Building.
