Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will hold a press conference at 10:45 a.m. He is expected to announce his resignation following cries from both ends of his country’s political spectrum for him to step down.
Canada has been facing a housing and affordability crisis, and Trudeau has been under extra pressure as President-elect Donald Trump takes office to deal with these issues while addressing the president-elect’s threatened tariffs.
If he resigns, the Liberal Party will need to pick a new leader and hold a special leadership convention.
