WATCH: Pelosi avoids endorsing Harris as Biden’s “best running mate”
Is Kamala Harris the Best Running Mate for President Biden?
Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) refused to say whether she thinks Vice President Kamala Harris is the best running mate for President Joe Biden.
When asked during a Wednesday appearance on CNN, Pelosi said Biden “thinks so and that’s what matters.” When asked again, she said, “She’s the vice president of the United States.”
Pelosi added that the nature of the job is that “you don’t do that much.”
Pelosi, who announced earlier this week that she is seeking reelection next year when she will be 84 years old, further hyped Harris up as “politically astute” and avoided criticizing her.
Democrats Fear Criticizing Kamala Harris
Politico reported this year that Democratic officials won’t criticize Harris out of fear of being called racist or sexist.
Upset Allies and Political Distractions
The veep’s allies are reportedly upset over California governor Gavin Newsom’s (D.) plan to debate Florida governor Ron DeSantis (R.), calling it “disrespectful” for distracting from Harris’s political career.
