“Oh, Curveball? That’s not even a curveball,” said Adams. ”That’s a brushback pitch that knocked us to the ground, but we gotta get back up and knock it out of the park.” He anticipated that the federal government would not provide aid to the city in 2024 to address the crisis, and the process of budget cuts to tackle the issue would be “extremely painful.”
