WATCH: Texas Rancher Explains The Horrors Of Finding Dead Illegal Immigrants On His Property

Texas Rancher Whit Jones on Thursday described one of the horrifying side effects of the ongoing border crisis: finding bodies of dead illegal immigrants on his property.

According to Jones, the geographic location changes the number of bodies that may show up. The terrain and the immigrant’s overall destination can determine that outcome. He said he has only found two or three bodies per year while his neighbor tends to find roughly 10 dead illegal immigrants per year.

“Like you said, a neighbor of mine has been finding close to 10 a year for the last 10 years,” Jones told Brian Kilmeade on “Fox and Friends.”

With the current surge taking place across the border, Jones said the majority of the people who are turning up dead in his neighborhood are single males between the ages of 20 and 40.

“Right now it is. It’s not always that way,” the rancher said. “Right now we’re hardly seeing any women because of everything that’s going on on the river. Those people aren’t having to make this journey. They can claim asylum, the women and children can, and they’re being bussed places.”

Jones said the situation at the border is more dangerous that it has been in the past because there are no women and children or family units coming through. It’s solely single men, according to Jones.

“There’s a sense of fear that exists down here all the time. It’s a terrible situation,” he explained.

The rancher is hoping a state law will be passed that he said would “penalize smugglers” and protect the illegal immigrants.

Jones and his neighbors reside in Hebbronville, Texas, about 50 miles north of the southern border where an interior Border Patrol checkpoint is located.

This is one of the many effects of the Biden administration’s softer immigration rhetoric and rolling back President Donald Trump’s tougher immigration policies. The rollback is likely responsible for the unprecedented number of unaccompanied minors who have flocked to the United States. Coyotes have also witnessed holes in the immigration system, which has allegedly resulted in an increase in human smuggling and unaccompanied children being left alone in the desert.
