VIDEO: Southern Border Experiencing Another Surge
Illegal Border Crossings Surge as Border Patrol Struggles to Keep Up
Illegal border crossings are on the rise again, and Border Patrol authorities are overwhelmed.
Despite White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre’s insistence that President Joe Biden has done “more to secure the border and to deal with this issue of immigration than anybody else,” Americans have seen evidence to the contrary.
Monday alone saw Border Patrol encounter over 9,700 migrants in both illegal crossings and at ports of entry. That total comes close to the record single-day number of encounters, when agents apprehended over 10,000 migrants in May. Between Friday and Monday, Border Patrol saw 35,000 migrant encounters.
Agents in El Paso, Texas, are encountering about 1,200 illegal migrants per day with local shelters operating over capacity. That revelation prompted CNN host Sara Sidner on Tuesday to declare, “The migrant crisis at the southern border is exploding once again.”
Over the weekend, several videos emerged showing the dire circumstances at the border. One video showed Border Patrol agents emptying buses of migrants in San Diego, Calif., in a mass release. Agents also released one family in the parking lot of a store in Arizona.
Fox News’s Bill Melugin and others on Fox’s team in the past week captured several videos of migrants crossing the border by land and sea. Former Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office director John Fabbricatore also traveled to the border and filmed hundreds of illegal immigrants apprehended by border agents.
One video shared widely on social media Sunday showed a train of cheering migrants headed from Zacatecas, Mexico, toward the southern border.
What are the concerns raised by critics regarding the Biden administration’s immigration policies and their impact on the current surge in illegal crossings
Illegal border crossings have once again surged, putting an immense strain on the Border Patrol’s ability to keep up. Despite the claims made by White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre that President Joe Biden has done more to secure the border and address immigration than anyone else, Americans have been presented with evidence to the contrary.
Just recently, on Monday alone, Border Patrol encountered over 9,700 migrants attempting illegal crossings or entering through ports of entry. This figure comes close to the record single-day number of encounters in May, when agents apprehended over 10,000 migrants. To make matters worse, between Friday and Monday, Border Patrol encountered an additional influx of migrants.
The surge in illegal border crossings has been described as an “explosion” by experts, highlighting the immense challenges faced by law enforcement agencies tasked with securing the border. The current situation not only poses a significant security risk, but also puts a strain on resources and personnel.
One of the major concerns is the strain on Border Patrol agents, who are already overwhelmed. The border crisis has become a hotly debated topic, with critics blaming the Biden administration’s immigration policies for the current surge in illegal crossings. Critics argue that the reversal of several Trump-era policies, such as the Migrant Protection Protocols and strict asylum guidelines, have encouraged migrants to attempt illegal border crossings. Additionally, the perception that the current administration is more lenient on immigration enforcement has further emboldened migrants seeking entry into the United States.
The current situation demands immediate attention and action from the federal government. It is crucial for comprehensive border security measures to be implemented to effectively address the surge in illegal crossings. This includes an assessment of existing policies and their impact, as well as the allocation of additional resources and personnel to the Border Patrol.
The border crisis not only affects border communities and law enforcement agencies, but also has broader implications for national security and immigration policies. It is essential for the government to adopt a multi-faceted approach that includes effective border enforcement, cooperation with neighboring countries, and addressing the root causes of migration. Without a swift and comprehensive response, the situation will continue to escalate, exacerbating the challenges faced by the Border Patrol and undermining the overall security and integrity of the nation’s borders.
In conclusion, the surge in illegal border crossings has once again brought the issue of immigration to the forefront. With Border Patrol struggling to keep up, it is imperative for the federal government to prioritize effective border security measures. The current situation calls for a comprehensive approach that addresses the underlying factors contributing to the surge and ensures the safety and security of the nation’s borders. Failure to address the border crisis adequately will only lead to further challenges and consequences in the long run.
