Tim Ballard showcases impactful ‘Sound of Freedom’ clip during Congressional testimony.

Former CIA Agent Tim Ballard Testifies Before Congress on Human Trafficking

Former CIA ⁢agent Tim Ballard, whose fight against human trafficking ‍was told in the hit film “Sound of ⁢Freedom,” used a clip from the movie to make his point Wednesday when he testified before Congress.

During emotional testimony before the House⁢ Homeland Security Committee, Ballard passionately expressed his belief that the Biden administration’s border policies have failed.

“Tragically, ⁣as a result of this administration’s current⁣ policies,⁤ DHS and HHS have⁢ unwittingly become a child trafficking delivery service. This must stop,” he emphasized.

Ballard began his testimony by showing a powerful clip from the movie that depicted a real-life ‍moment he experienced while working for the Department of Homeland Security.

“The horrors a child faces ‌as‍ a victim of human trafficking demand that we take action. A child can be ⁢sold up to 20 times a day, six days a week for ten years or⁤ even longer, depending when the abuse ⁤began,” he stated.

Highlighting the urgency of the situation, Ballard revealed that in 2022 alone, immigration authorities encountered⁤ over 152,000 unaccompanied minors at or near the U.S.-Mexico border, representing an all-time high.

Ballard believes that the need to fight human trafficking is why⁤ “Sound of Freedom” resonated with audiences, sparking a national conversation on child sex slavery and trafficking, which he describes as the fastest-growing criminal enterprise on the planet.

According to Ballard, traffickers ‍exploit ⁤the southern border to bring slaves into the United States for the sex‍ industry, as the country is one of the highest⁣ consumers of child sex-abuse material ‍worldwide.

Ballard emphasized that the success of agents on the ground is overshadowed by poor U.S. border ⁣security and broken policies that fuel the growth of human trafficking ⁢in the country.

He stressed the importance of physical barriers ‍on ⁢the border, sharing personal experiences where ports of entry played a crucial role in rescuing ⁣children and catching sexual predators.

However, Ballard also recounted stories of survivors who were trafficked by cartels through unprotected areas of the⁤ border, enduring years of abuse before escaping.

Recent‌ reports claiming that the government cannot locate 85,000 children released into the U.S. further⁤ highlight the⁣ vulnerability of unaccompanied minors to trafficking.

During⁢ the hearing, Republican‌ Rep. Mark Green of Tennessee ‌asked Ballard if the catch-and-release policies of Secretary Mayorkas⁣ facilitate human trafficking,⁤ to which Ballard responded affirmatively.

Ballard believes that it is time to put politics aside and take immediate action to secure the border and end policies‍ that put innocent children at risk.

He concluded his testimony by expressing hope that a unified spirit against ‍evil can bring an end to human trafficking.
