Watch: Tucker Carlson Sits Down with Ice Cube, Discusses How Rapper Feels About Race and Police
Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson had an engaging conversation with rapper and actor Ice Cube on the latest episode of “Tucker on Twitter.”
The illuminating interview covered a range of topics, including race, police, and the importance of healthy debates.
Carlson asked Ice Cube about his current views on law enforcement.
Ice Cube responded, “It’s the same,” and drew a comparison to one’s view of the military.
“Like they’re the military,” he continued. “They’re always going to be the military. If I asked you this in 1946, you’d be like, ‘They’re the military.'”
In the past, Ice Cube has been critical of the police, and as a member of the rap group N.W.A., he was involved in the controversial song “F*** tha Police.”
However, he also understands the perspective of law enforcement officers, stating, “And you can’t really fault somebody for thinking that way as a police officer.”

Carlson also asked Ice Cube if he believes that the role of racial conflict is overplayed in American life.
“Yes,” he bluntly stated. “I think race takes up too much space.”
He went on to explain that we all have people of the same race whom we can’t stand, and people from different races whom we get along with better.
“It’s not about race. It’s not about color and gender and this and that,” Ice Cube emphasized. “It’s about who do you connect with.”
When asked why he wanted to speak with Carlson, despite potential backlash, Ice Cube replied, “Because I think it’s silly not to talk to people. Whether we agree or not, that has nothing to do with it.”
“Let’s talk about it. Let’s debate.”
Ice Cube acknowledged that he is not always welcomed on certain platforms because he is an independent thinker who doesn’t conform to the herd mentality.
