VIDEO: Biden Dodges Inquiry on Increasing Hawaii Death Toll: ‘No Response’

President Biden Remains Silent on‌ Rising Death Toll in Hawaii

President Joe ‌Biden didn’t have much to tell ‌the press this weekend regarding the‌ rising death toll in ‌Hawaii ‌following devastating⁤ wildfires in Maui.

“No comment,” Biden told reporters on Sunday after ‌he was asked about the disaster. The question came after the president spent hours lounging by the water in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

At least 96 people are dead in Maui, a toll⁢ that⁣ is expected to rise ⁤as⁣ authorities search the island for human remains and work to account for the hundreds of missing persons.

Biden said ⁢ earlier on Sunday that “we’re ‍looking ⁣at it” when asked about ‍the historic ⁣devastation. The ‍president approved a major disaster declaration last week that allows federal funds and agencies to aid in the response.

President’s Hostility Towards the ⁣Press

The ⁣president is known for being hostile ‌toward the press. ⁢Biden has repeatedly lashed ⁢ out at ⁤reporters who ask about his son Hunter Biden and the family’s overseas business dealings. He‍ has also ⁢ given far fewer interviews to the⁢ media‌ than his predecessors.

Biden has spent around 40 percent of his presidency on vacation,⁢ mainly ⁤at ⁣his ⁢homes in Delaware.
