Cash App Creator Killed

Bob Lee, the creator of Cash App, a mobile payment service, was stabbed to death in San Francisco yesterday. The incident took place in the downtown Rincon Hill area around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The police are yet to make any arrests in connection with the matter. Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, criticized San Francisco for the increasing violent crime and questioned the government’s action against repeat offenders.

Missouri Tornado Kills Multiple

Several people were reported to be dead or injured after a deadly tornado hit Bollinger County in Missouri this morning. The officials are calling the impact “devastating.” Sergeant Clark Parrot of the Missouri State Highway Patrol says they were aware of the severe impact the tornado would have, but the area’s aerial footage is heartbreaking.

Kevin McCarthy Meets With President Of Taiwan

Despite warnings from China, Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy met with the president of Taiwan today in Southern California. The bipartisan group of lawmakers present at the meeting showed their support for the independent island.  

Wisconsin Supreme Court Results

Liberal candidate Judge Janet Protasiewicz defeated conservative-backed candidate Dan Kelly in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race on Tuesday. The race, which was the most expensive court race in history, could have significant impacts on the state’s laws and policies, including those related to abortion, voter integrity measures, election maps, and guns. Liberals could also question the state’s voter ID law, given the result of the election.

Chicago Mayoral Race

Cook County Commissioner Brandon Johnson was elected as Chicago’s next mayor on Tuesday, defeating former Chicago Public Schools CEO Paul Vallos. He will succeed Lori Lightfoot, who is the first incumbent Chicago mayor to have lost re-election in decades.

NC Democrat Switches Parties

Tricia Cotham, a North Carolina State Representative, has switched political parties, joining the Republican Party. Her move has given the GOP a veto-proof majority in the state legislature.
