Preview of Trump’s Manhattan Trial by WFB Editor in Chief
Eliana Johnson, the editor in chief of the Washington Free Beacon, shared insights on Donald Trump’s upcoming Manhattan trial on CNN. She mentioned that any negative aspects of the trial, involving allegations of falsifying records to hide a payment to Stormy Daniels, won’t significantly impact Trump’s reputation. Johnson highlighted that the case won’t reveal shocking details about Trump’s character. The trial, featuring Trump’s testimony, is set to commence soon.
Washington Free Beacon editor in chief Eliana Johnson appeared Saturday on CNN, where she previewed former president Donald Trump’s impending Manhattan trial.
Johnson said that any “sleaze” stemming from the case—Trump is accused of falsifying business records to conceal a hush money payment made to porn star Stormy Daniels—will not impact the former president.
“We are not learning about new ‘sleaze’ in this case,” Johnson said. “There is nothing in this case we’re going to learn about Trump’s character that is going to shock and scandalize the American public. … I don’t think that’s going to move the needle.”
Trump is expected to testify in the trial, which is scheduled to begin Monday.
