While questions abound regarding the business dealings of President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, and Jim, brother — and for good reason — we don’t hear all that much about the President’s youngest brother, Francis “Frank” W. Biden. The Boca Raton, Florida resident of 69 years who serves as a “non-attorney adviser” To the Berman Law Group, has mostly flown under radar (perhaps not so difficult considering his notable exploits with his nephew).
Which isn’t to say there’s been No Media coverage of Frank Biden. In fact, as RedState’s Bonchie notes in this January article, CNN did recently report on the family’s corruption:
This dynamic is back, and it’s this time around. CNNThe liberal network did a complete report on the corruption surrounding Biden’s family.
The president’s brothers have invoked it in their private business pursuits over the years to suggest access to power and influence, according to a CNN review of court documents, emails and video recordings as well as interviews with former business acquaintances.
For example, a year after Biden was elected to the presidency, Frank, his younger brother, boasted in an address to Boston’s medical professionals about his achievements. “bully pulpit” He was granted due to “my brother Joey,” He vowed to help attendees “get federal dollars.” Just three months ago, Frank Biden was an invited keynote speaker at a medical conference in Venice, Italy, where he gave advice to a group lobbying the federal government – a trip he acknowledged he did not pay for but declined to say who did.
Learn more CNN On the Venice trek:
A lecture was given by a US keynote speaker at the October meeting of heart doctors from around Europe. “the future of global health care.”
The speaker wasn’t a doctor. He did not have a background in global or local health care. Francis W. “Frank” Biden also had a brother in White House.
In his speech, Frank Biden talked about his family and his brother’s cancer initiative, according to attendees. Following his remarks, the leader of a trade group who attended the event promptly posted a video from Venice informing members he represents that he’d spoken with Frank Biden about their efforts to lobby the federal government on Medicare reimbursement rules. The president’s brother, he told his members, had agreed to help.
…
Frank Biden, who is not a registered federal lobbyist, told CNN he has not communicated with the government on behalf of the Heart Rhythm Society and refuted any notion that he has somehow leveraged his brother’s office for personal gain.
CNN initially reported that he had told CNN that his trip to Italy included his flight and one or more nights in a hotel. This was paid by BioSig Technologies CEO, a co-sponsor of the conference.
The Venice conference wasn’t the first time Frank Biden spoke at an event associated with BioSig. He gave a lecture in the summer 2021. speech The company hosted a Boston dinner that was open to all health professionals.
Frank Biden, a former Vice President, boasted about the event. “the bully pulpit that I have as a result of the privilege of being associated with my brother Joey,” And vowed to “do everything in my power to support you to get the job done, to get federal dollars to your research,” The video below shows his speech.
However, the relationship between Frank Biden (from Connecticut) and BioSig is murky. Both parties give shifting answers when asked about it.
BioSig spokesmen initially said that they wanted to find out about President Biden’s federal research program. They also retained the law office where Frank Biden works as an adviser. Two days later, the spokesman, Andrew Ballou, said he’d been misinformed and that BioSig had never retained the firm. Ballou also denied Frank Biden’s assertion that BioSig’s CEO had paid for his trip to Italy.
Frank Biden initially stated to CNN that he had only been consulting for BioSig about a year. He later changed his position and stated that he had never been a consultant for the company. In a later text message, he clarified that he had provided informal sales support to BioSig. Frank Biden stated in another text that he had provided informal sales assistance to BioSig for his Italian travel. “someone” It was paid for, although he did not specify who.
ABC News ran this piece in January 2020: “How Frank Biden leveraged his famous name for business gain.”
In it, they detailed Frank Biden’s murky relationship with a controversial charter school enterprise — a role for which he reportedly earned $70,000 per year over the course of five years:
The year 2009 is Joe Biden took office as vice president, a local business executive met the politician’s younger brother, Frank, at a Starbucks in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and later asked him to become the president and front man for a fledgling charter school venture.
Frank Biden, a state-based real estate developer, accepted the offer. Over the years, he used his well-known last name and strong connections in Washington to help the company land a number of charter contracts from local officials to establish charter schools in Florida. In the process, the company earned hundreds of thousands of dollar over a period of five years.
In Interviews with media at the time, Frank Biden was unabashed – calling his last name “a tremendous asset” because of the family’s record of “taking care of people who need help,” telling people what it meant to him “automatic acceptance” As he sought government approvals to establish the for-profit Mavericks Education.
Mavericks, as mentioned, has been a subject of controversy for many years.
A company is accused of fraud and mismanagement
Mavericks have operated schools since their opening. Schools run by Mavericks have struggled to perform and faced accusations of fraud in state audits.
A 2014 lawsuit filed by two Pinellas County school district executives – which named Frank Biden as a defendant – accused Mavericks of “falsely inflating the operating expenses associated with the operations of the charter schools” To make it easier for you to “divert funds from the education of the students to the owners of [Mavericks]” – to the tune of $22 million. The lawsuit was eventually dropped.
In 2012, a former Mavericks teacher in Palm Beach filed a whistleblower suit accusing her supervisors of changing student enrollment records to get more government funding. The case was settled outside of court. The terms of settlement were not disclosed.
Two audits conducted by the state in Florida in 2012, and 2014 revealed that Mavericks schools had been operating in Florida. Palm Beach And Broward Similar problems plagued other counties. Pegg explained that the audits led to school districts developing corrective actions plans for Mavericks. The company also followed their lead.
The Washington Post published an article entitled: “Biden brother’s role in Florida law firm complicates White House ethics message.” The piece points out Frank’s penchant for trading on his family ties:
As President Biden begins his third week in office the firm where his brother works is alive “non-attorney senior adviser” has aggressively touted its ties to power — emphasizing the brothers’ connection, declaring that their values are aligned, highlighting Biden’s policies as it advertises its services and generally playing up Frank Biden’s role even on cases in which he is not involved.
Of course, WaPo couldn’t resist the “But Trump!” angle:
As Biden seeks to break dramatically from the mingling of family and government that characterized Donald Trump’s presidency, Frank Biden’s activities could muddy the message. His work at the Boca Raton, Fla.-based company, which has long been focused on personal injuries cases, but in recent years has tried to broaden its horizons by hiring Frank Biden.
After Biden’s inauguration in January, Berman Law Group moved swiftly to capitalize on his immigration policy shifts. In a social media post, it highlighted the president’s halt to deportations while pitching a “free consultation” Anybody who seeks its services. The company deleted the posts on Sunday after being questioned by The Washington Post.
And for a fairly thorough takedown of Frank Biden’s character, note this February 2020 Daily Mail Article:
“Meet Frank Biden, Joe’s ‘penniless’ brother who has snubbed mourning family he owes $1m – but who dined at the White House, boasts of his links to the former VP and vacations at $1,000-a-night ranch”
- Frank Biden, 66, is 11 years the former vice president’s junior and the youngest of his three siblings
- DailyMail.com has revealed that he owes the family of a man who was killed in a car accident in 1999 almost $1 million, and has never paid a cent
- Younger Biden has an opaque resume and appears to have offered markedly different accounts of his career over the years
- He now lives in Atlantis with Mindy Ward, a Hooters waitress who became an American Airlines flight attendant. Mindy is a daughter of her parents.
- They were at a White House state dinner during his brother’s time in office and he calls himself a senior adviser to a pro-Biden political action committee
- Has said that he has been educated at the University of Delaware, San Francisco State University University, Cornell University, Pepperdine Law and Cornell University.
- Between 1993 and 1997, I was a congressional public affairs officer for the Government Printing Office.
- His marriage to journalist Janine Jaquet, with whom he has daughter Alana, 30, ended in the mid-1990s, and he has daughter, Megan, from another relationship
We see yet again many red flags pointing towards influence peddling and questionable practice involving another Biden relative.
We are aware that the Oversight Committee is currently investigating the Biden family’s corruption. Rep. James Comer, a Republican from Kentucky, is the Chair of the Oversight Committee. He shared his recent Fox News interview with Sean Hannity in which he explained the issues that the committee is investigating and what the next steps may be.
At the end of my Biden family inquiry, there are two things that every American will understand:
1. Multiple members of the Biden Family were influential peddling.
2. They made most of their deals during Joe Biden’s term in office as VP.
We must determine if @POTUS It is compromised.@SeanHannity pic.twitter.com/OEue0YDokr
— Rep. James Comer (@RepJamesComer) February 15, 2023
While Comer doesn’t specifically mention Frank Biden in that clip, it’s clear that he’s been on the committee’s radar It has been around for a while:
In the letters, the Republicans outlined several incidents of concern from President Biden’s current position and from his time as Vice President, including the most recent surge in Hunter Biden’s art sales; President Biden’s sister’s, Valerie Biden Owens, intent to publish a book detailing her time as “The Joe Biden Whisperer”; and President Biden’s brother, Frank Biden, using his relationship with the President in advertising for the law firm he advises.
The Biden family’s actions during the Obama-Biden Administration are similarly concerning and reveal a potential pattern of using the White House for profit. Frank Biden was able to use the Biden name, and his connections to the then-Vice President Biden, to his advantage in 2011, for example. Hunter Biden flew Air Force 2 in 2013, with Vice President Biden to China, where he was working on a Chinese private equity fund. In 2016, Vice President Biden flew Hunter Biden, his son, and his business associate aboard Air Force 2 to Mexico. Hunter and his associate did business there.
These investigations should begin to bear fruit with Republicans as the Oversight Committee and House of Representatives.
