Whistleblower X uncovers identity of Hunter Biden IRS whistleblower, Joe Ziegler.
The Whistleblower X Revealed: IRS Investigator Joe Ziegler
The anonymous IRS criminal investigator, known as “whistleblower X,” has been unmasked as IRS Special Agent Joe Ziegler. With a decade of experience at the agency, Ziegler recently appeared before the House Oversight Committee alongside veteran IRS Supervisory Special Agent Gary Shapley to shed light on the alleged politicization of the Hunter Biden investigation.
A Brave Decision to Speak Out
Ziegler’s decision to come forward was not taken lightly. After multiple unsuccessful attempts to blow the whistle internally at the IRS, he made the courageous choice to risk his career, reputation, and casework outside of this investigation. In his upcoming testimony, Ziegler plans to address misconceptions about his credibility, emphasizing that his sexual orientation and political beliefs do not make him a more reliable source.
“I was raised and have always strived to do what is right,” Ziegler intends to say. “Regardless of your political party affiliation, if you were in my position with the facts as I have stated them, you would be doing the exact same thing.”
An Example for the LGBT Community
Ziegler hopes that his actions serve as an inspiration to the LGBT community, especially those who may be questioning whether to do the right thing at a potential cost to themselves and others.
A Diverse Portfolio of Investigations
According to Ziegler’s testimony, he has worked on a variety of criminal tax and money laundering investigations throughout his career. As a public information officer for the IRS and a healthcare fraud coordinator, he has dealt with cases involving physicians, pharmacists, and medical billing companies. Ziegler has also been involved in seizing millions of dollars worth of criminal proceeds, including homes, vehicles, jewelry, and bank accounts.
A Personal Encounter with Crime
In 2017, Ziegler himself became a victim of crime when his personal car, a BMW, and an IRS government-issued vehicle, a white Dodge Charger, were carjacked in Atlanta, Georgia. Fortunately, both cars were recovered shortly after the incident.
A Dedicated Investigator
Ziegler relocated to Washington, D.C., in November 2018, where he joined the International Tax and Financial Crimes group. In addition to his involvement in the Hunter Biden investigation, he has served as the lead case agent on an investigation into a global social media company.
Committee Chairman’s Expectations
Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer believes that the testimony from Ziegler and Shapley may not reveal new information, but it will shed light on how the Department of Justice handled the Hunter Biden case. Comer alleges that the DOJ refused to follow evidence implicating Joe Biden, tipped off Hunter Biden’s attorneys, allowed certain charges to expire, and paved the way for a favorable plea deal.
Hunter Biden reached a plea deal in June, which included two misdemeanor tax charges and a felony gun charge that is expected to be dropped after a probationary period.
