White House Confirms Biden’s Super Bowl Interview With Fox News Isn’t Happening

Jean-Pierre did no more detail about the reason for the interview, but her Twitter post suggests that the White House was indicating that Fox News cancelled the interview. An Epoch Times request for comment was not immediately returned by Fox News Media.

Pre-game interviews have been a tradition for the presidents over the past decade. These are the most watched television programs each year. During his two terms, former President Barack Obama conducted many Super Bowl-related interviews. Former President Donald Trump declined to participate in any of them in 2018, when NBC hosted it.

Anonymous Sources’ Claims

Unnamed Fox News executives claimed that Biden was offered an interview by the network without any strings attached. Fox News has not yet publicly responded to Jean-Pierre’s statement on Friday, and its website has not published any stories about the development as of Friday afternoon.

“We offered an interview with our top news anchors with no strings attached,” The Fox News executive said The Washington Post. “They walked away from a huge audience, and it’s a major missed opportunity.”

Every year, traditionally, the network covering the Super Bowl gets an interview with the president of the United States,” Baier said during the network’s coverage of Biden’s State of the Union speech to Congress. “We have formally asked for that interview, but we have not received an answer yet, whether they are going to officially do it or not … we’re running out of days,” He stated.

Biden did not give a Fox News interview after assuming office in the early 2021.

Fox’s top White House reporter, Peter Doocy, and Biden administration officials have been involved in tense moments since the president took office. Biden used an expletive last year to describe Doocy, when asked about the decades-high levels of inflation.
