After the Hamas terror group released a video showing a female hostage receiving medical treatment and praising her captors, the White House has dismissed it as propaganda. The spokesperson for the White House called the video an attempt by Hamas to whitewash their terrorist activities.
Hamas Releases Video of Hostage
Hamas recently released a video featuring a statement from Mia Schem, a 21-year-old hostage who was captured during a devastating attack on Israeli communities. The attack resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,400 people, mostly civilians.
During the attack, Mia Schem managed to send a text message to a friend, pleading for help. Her mother confirmed this at a press conference in Tel Aviv.
“They’re shooting at us. Please come and save us,” Mia Schem’s desperate message read. Her mother confirmed the authenticity of the text.
The video released by Hamas shows Mia Schem receiving medical treatment for her injured arm. However, the White House spokesperson dismissed it as propaganda and condemned Hamas for their brutal attack on Israeli communities.
The White House spokesperson, John Kirby, stated that Mia Schem’s video testimony was likely given under duress. He described the video as despicable and an attempt by Hamas to portray themselves in a positive light.

‘It’s Despicable’
Mr. Kirby emphasized that the video should not be seen as proof of Mia Schem’s well-being but rather as a manipulative tactic by Hamas. He condemned their treatment of hostages and their attempt to deceive the world.
The Israeli military also condemned the video, accusing Hamas of trying to improve their image after the horrific attack on civilians.
An Israeli forensic team revealed that around 80 percent of the victims in one targeted community showed signs of torture. The brutality of the attack is evident.
‘Please Get Us Out of Here’
In the video, Mia Schem pleads for her release and expresses her desperation to be reunited with her family. She describes her injuries and the medical treatment she received from her captors.
In response to the Hamas video, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) issued a statement, condemning Hamas as a horrific terrorist organization. They assured that they are actively working to secure the release of all hostages, including Mia Schem.

Taken Hostage
Hamas gunmen kidnapped at least 199 Israelis and foreigners during the attack, resulting in the largest number of fatal casualties in a single day in Israel’s history. The international community is appalled by these acts of terrorism.
Earlier, Hamas claimed that the non-Israeli hostages were their “guests” and would be released when circumstances allow.
France has confirmed the deaths of 21 French citizens in the Hamas terror attacks, with 11 French citizens still missing. French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed his support for the hostages’ families and condemned the use of blackmail by Hamas.
During his visit to Albania, President Macron stated that his government is doing everything possible to secure the release of French hostages held in Gaza.
The White House has confirmed that Americans are among the hostages, and President Joe Biden will prioritize their safe return during his upcoming trip to Israel.
