White House intensifies conflict with African journalist – Comply or risk losing press pass.
The Biden Administration Threatens to Cancel African Reporter’s Press Pass
The Biden administration has intensified its campaign against a journalist who asks tough questions, now going as far as threatening to revoke his press pass.
This week, Simon Ateba, a journalist from Cameroon, received a warning letter from the Biden press apparatus accusing him of “disruptive” behavior in the White House press room.
The letter stated, “If you continue to impede briefings or events by shouting over your colleagues who have been called on for a question, even after you have been asked to stop by a White House employee, then your hard pass may be suspended or revoked, following notice and an opportunity to respond.”
Ateba posted the full letter on Twitter:
BREAKING: Following @washingtonpost hit piece meant to prevent me from renewing my hard pass, the @WhiteHouse and @PressSec office just sent me ‘A WARNING LETTER.” Here it is:

Ateba responded on Twitter, condemning the “coordinated vicious attacks against me to assassinate my character and silence me.”
He also pointed out that the liberal media is targeting him as well.
Ateba referred to a Washington Post “hit piece” published prior to receiving the warning letter, which labeled him a “right-wing celebrity.”
As you may know by now, virtually all left-leaning publications have written about me in the past 24 hours. They claim, as you can read below, that I have become a “right-wing media celebrity” and must be brought down, canceled, booted out. May God help us! pic.twitter.com/q7Z0a6UX5j

Ateba’s battle with the White House began during Jen Psaki’s tenure as press secretary, where he was often marginalized and rarely given the opportunity to ask questions.
Karine Jean-Pierre, Psaki’s successor, has also clashed with Ateba.

Jean-Pierre once stormed out of the press room after a tense confrontation with Ateba when she refused to answer questions about American diplomacy in Africa.
In another instance, Ateba challenged Jean-Pierre’s attempt to divert attention by bringing in the cast of a comedy show. Ateba’s serious questions led to a heated exchange, with Ateba accusing Jean-Pierre of mocking the First Amendment.
Should Jean-Pierre Have to Take Ateba’s Questions?
Other leftists have also criticized Ateba for his persistent questioning of Jean-Pierre. On ABC’s “The View,” the hosts dismissed Ateba as not being a “serious journalist.”
Ateba’s mistreatment by the Biden administration has led him to seek legal action and has raised concerns for his safety.
It is evident that Ateba has become a thorn in Jean-Pierre’s side, and the White House is determined to silence him and prevent him from asking questions. This contradicts the administration’s promise of transparency.
While Biden avoids answering important questions, denies the existence of his granddaughter, and dismisses bribery allegations, the White House is focused on discrediting and destroying a journalist they dislike.
Transparency, it seems, is not a priority after all.
