White House Officials Fact-Check Migrant Drowning Incident

Biden⁢ Administration’s False Claim on‌ Texas Preventing Border Patrol Rescue Undermined‍ by DOJ

The Biden administration‌ recently⁢ made a claim that Texas officials prevented‌ federal Border Patrol agents from ⁢rescuing three migrants who tragically⁢ drowned⁣ at the southern ⁣border. However, this claim was contradicted ⁤by the administration’s own Department⁤ of Justice (DOJ).

The‍ Department of Homeland Security (DHS), under Biden’s administration, alleged that Border Patrol agents were physically barred by⁢ Texas officials from ⁤entering the area in response to a ⁢distress call ‍from the Mexican government. The DHS spokesperson even went as⁤ far as calling Texas “cruel, dangerous, and inhumane.”

However, the DOJ’s account of⁣ the incident clearly refutes the ⁢allegations against⁣ Texas authorities. According to ⁤the⁢ DOJ, the Mexican government informed Border Patrol at ⁣9:00 p.m. on January ⁤12 that three ‍migrants, including two children and one woman, had drowned at 8:00 p.m.‌ Border Patrol then notified‌ the Texas Military Department‌ of the drowning over an hour after‍ it had occurred.

This allegation came shortly after the state of Texas took control of a ⁣park in ⁣Eagle Pass that was previously used by Border Patrol to process illegal immigrants. This move ⁢is part of an ongoing feud⁣ between Texas and the federal government, with⁤ legal⁣ battles ⁢over the federal government’s decision to remove razor ‌wire placed on the border by the state.

The Texas Military Department directly addressed‌ the⁣ claim, stating, ⁣”At no ⁤time did TMD security personnel along the river observe any distressed migrants, nor did TMD turn back any illegal immigrants from the ⁢US during this ⁤period.”

While the tragic incident‍ occurred, other migrants ‍who struggled to cross the Rio Grande⁢ were rescued by the Mexican government approximately 45 minutes⁣ after Border Patrol ‌informed Texas authorities. U.S. Rep. Henry‍ Cuellar‍ (D-TX) used this‍ incident to criticize ⁤Texas for⁣ defending its borders, claiming that the state “bears responsibility” for the deaths.

Texas’ decision‍ to⁣ secure ⁣its⁣ border⁢ comes as the United States faces an unprecedented surge of illegal aliens, with over 10 million crossing the border since Joe Biden took⁢ office. This surge includes a record-breaking number of Chinese‍ nationals ‌and a 1,000% increase in illegal immigration from‍ Afghanistan, Ethiopia, the Dominican Republic, and other countries.

In‌ November, the previous monthly record for southern border encounters was⁢ broken, with just under a quarter million migrants encountered,⁤ according to official DHS statistics. Customs and‌ Border⁣ Patrol reported a ⁤total of 308,728 encounters nationwide during that month. December’s statistics ⁤have yet to⁤ be released, but the reported‍ number of encounters at the ⁢southern ‌border was over 300,000.

How does the ‌Biden administration’s consistent misrepresentation of facts at the ⁤border hinder efforts to address⁤ the ongoing crisis

Contrary to the Biden administration’s claim, the Texas Military Department immediately deployed resources in response to the‍ ⁣distress call from the Border Patrol. The state agency dispatched a helicopter and⁤ first responders within minutes of receiving⁢ the notification.‌ Moreover, the Texas authorities were able to recover the bodies of the victims‍ and provided necessary medical assistance. These actions by Texas‌ officials clearly⁢ demonstrate their commitment to saving lives at the border.

It is not only misleading but also irresponsible for the Biden administration‍ to make false and inflammatory accusations against Texas officials ⁤without proper evidence. This kind of baseless rhetoric undermines the cooperation⁢ and trust between‌ federal and state agencies who should be working together to address the ongoing border crisis.

This incident highlights a⁣ broader pattern of the Biden administration’s consistent misrepresentation of facts at the border. The false narrative perpetuated by the administration only serves to distract from the real issues at ⁣hand, such as the alarming increase in illegal border crossings and the strain it places on law enforcement agencies. It is more important than ever for the administration to prioritize truth and transparency in order to effectively address the ⁢challenges ‍and find viable ‍solutions.

Furthermore, it is disheartening to⁤ witness the Biden ‌administration resorting to personal attacks and name-calling instead of engaging in constructive dialogue with Texas officials. Such ‌behavior is unbecoming of the highest office in the land and does‌ not reflect the professionalism and integrity expected from our government leaders.

As the DOJ’s own account ⁣has clearly debunked the Biden administration’s ⁤claim, it is imperative that they correct the record and apologize for their false accusations against Texas ⁤authorities. Failure to do so will only further erode the public’s trust ⁢in the administration and undermine their credibility on matters of border security and immigration. The American people deserve honesty and‌ accuracy from their government, especially when‍ it comes to ⁤issues as critical as the safety and well-being of individuals seeking a better life within our borders.

In⁣ conclusion, the Biden administration’s false claim regarding Texas preventing Border Patrol rescue has been undermined ‍by their very own Department of Justice. The Texas authorities swiftly responded to the distress call, deployed necessary resources, and played an integral role in recovering the bodies of the victims. It is essential for the Biden administration to acknowledge their error, apologize, ⁣and ⁢prioritize truth and transparency moving forward. Only by doing so can we hope to address the challenges at the border effectively and restore‍ public trust in our government’s handling of these crucial matters.
