White House suggests Biden won’t mark Afghanistan exit.

Anniversary of Afghanistan Withdrawal

It’s ‍been two years since the final days of the Afghanistan withdrawal, a moment that‌ had a significant impact on ⁢President Joe⁣ Biden’s approval ratings.⁤ However,⁣ it seems that the Biden administration has chosen not to commemorate this anniversary with any in-person events.

Remembering the Fallen

During Wednesday’s White ‍House press briefing, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked if President Biden had any plans to honor the events and⁣ the lives lost during the withdrawal. In response, Jean-Pierre referred ‌to a ⁤written statement released by the president last Saturday.

“The president put out a statement recently when it came to the anniversary of Abbey⁢ Gate, so I just want to ‍state this as ⁢it was stated in the president’s statement,” she said. “We’ll forever honor ⁢the memory of ‍the⁣ 13 service members who were stolen far too soon from their families, loved ones, and brothers ⁤and sisters in arms.”

Biden⁣ firmly believes that leaving Afghanistan was ‌the right decision and that the war should have ended long⁣ ago. ‌Moving forward, his focus is on protecting our homeland and ⁤ensuring the safety of Americans.

While there won’t be any official⁤ events to mark the occasion, it’s worth‌ noting that 13 Gold Star families, who⁣ tragically lost loved ⁣ones, appeared before the⁢ House Foreign Affairs committee this ⁤week. Many of them ‌expressed ‍strong criticism of Biden’s handling of the ‍situation.
